The max RAM you can install onto it is 2GB. If you are thinking overclocking it (using RAM above 667.0 MHz), then it's a bad idea the cooling system was designed to cool it at stock speeds, not at overclocked speeds.
If you still want to try and burn it, then make sure you have matching sticks of RAM, then enter the memory configuration menu in the BIOS and disable the default memory profile. Adjust your memory multiplier by selecting a preset overclock option or by typing in the RAM clock speed. Use increments, one or two at a time, that match consumer-grade products (DDR3 RAM is typically sold in increments of 800-1066-1333-1600-1867-2133); save the changes; and exit the BIOS.
Good luck
Possibly a bad motherboard.

SOURCE: how to remove bios password for Toshiba Satellite A200
If you know the current password, use it to enter BIOS SETUP.
Then, type a "blank" ("space-bar") as the "new" password.
If you don't know the current password, you're stuck;
this is a "security" feature to prevent a stolen laptop from being used by the thief.
