Unfortunately the television is out of warranty, but it is less than 3 years old.The issue was slightly noticeable two years ago, and has slowly worsened with age. A darken area starting at the center of the LCD seemingly is slowly draining (expanding) down the screen with time.In certain scenes the issue is almost unnoticeable, but in others it is extremely prominent. Changing video sources and resolutions has no effect. My first guess is a failing LCD panel. If so, I guess the TV is heading for the electronic recycling facility. Anybody seen something similar to this in an LCD screen?

What does the discoloration look like? Is it a pinkish or reddish color tint. This usually is the LCD inverterespecially if it is that slightly pink color and when it comes from the bottom of the screen. I could be wrong.... Thanks!!EJ Kudelka
I have seen that problem with other Creative players including my old Zen Xtra 30GB. If it is less than 3 months old I would suggest sending it in for replacement. Creative's warranty period is only 90 days. If it is out of warranty, it may cost more to get it repaired or replaced than it is worth. Creative products are great but in recent years their support and warranty policies have gotten horrible and repair costs are usually not worth it. When mine did that I put it away for a week or so and when I turned it on again, the display worked normally. It started acting up one other time, and I came to the conclusion that it was a heat issue causing my problem. Unfortunately it developed power issues and as I said, they wanted more to fix it after a year than it was worth and I opted for an iPod. Cheers and best wishes.
Go into your audio menu and make sure you are on stereo and not SAP. This will take care of the spanish thing. ilo is a walmart tv. double check the warranty time. It may not be a year. But they maybe able to help you on a local repair shop.
If they are pink or blue stripes, I have seen this before. I hope the TV is less than two years old, because the optical block has to be replaced. The optical block has a two year warranty on the part, but you will have to pay labor. Just to double check, make sure you can see it on all inputs and also that it shows up on the menu and on screen display. If yes to all of these, it's the optical block and no adjustments will help. Be sure to rate this solution. Thanks!
