I have kitchen aid superba the icemaker works fine, except at the door where ice is dispensed the unit freezes up the ice crusher area like there is an air leak in the door somewhere which allows warm air to enter and it freezes up. If I totally empty and defrost this area, it works fine until a couple of days later everything seems to freez up again. Your thoughts !!!!!!!

I have had this issue with my french door kitchen aid freezer drawer. I have a toddler who sometimes gets into the drawer. If it is left open just a hair, it will melt everything completely and water leaks out all over the floor.

The drain gets clogged when the door gets pushed back in for a tight seal and freezes again.

Try to focus on keeping a really tight seal every time you open and then close the freezer...its almost like you have to TRY to close it hard to ensure it is closed. Total pain, but it works. When the door is closed tight, it stays like it is supposed to .

SOURCE: Freezer and icemaker freezes, jams.

I have run into this before and found it very helpful to re-level the refrigerator. By leaning the fridge back toward the wall about an inch helped keep the water and ice in the tray. Remember to remove items that block air flow in the freezer. Remove the ice bin and clean it then start over with the fridge leaning back a little. Hope this helps.

Problem with kitchen aid superb side by side refrigerator - ice will not dispense. It makes ice, and the water works just fine. Is there are part that I can by to replace the door insert all together?

This is the auger, the unit that dispenses the ice. Check to make sure that the power to the unit, usually plugs into a port in the freezer, isn't dislodged or loose, If that doesn't fix the problem, you can call local part sellers, you can find one on www.whitepages.com, and see how much for a new or reconditioned one.
Hope this helps

I have a GE Profile refrigerator, Model PFSS6PKWBSS, with icemaker on door. Water is collecting under Deli-draw and leaking down freezer door onto floor. How do I fix leak?

Hi

Try and access the ice dispenser assembly and check from where the water is leaking. You would need to disassemble the ice dispenser and ice maker to check this. The ice dispenser is located in the upper portion of the freezer compartment. This assembly stores ice made by the icemaker and dispenses ice on demand from the door dispenser target switch.
1. Remove the upper ice bucket tray.
2. Slide out the ice dispenser assembly.
3. Remove the ice cube solenoid linkage Phillips head screw and slide the linkage back.
4. Remove the ice crusher cover Phillips head screws (2) and remove the cover.
5. With a pair of pliers, twist off the backing plate tabs located on either side of the crusher.
6. With 2 small flat-blade screwdrivers, unlock the ice crusher locking tabs located at either side of the ice crusher.
7. Lift the ice crusher out of the bucket.
8. Remove the ice crusher back cover.
9. Remove the locking ring from the ice crusher auger.
10. Remove the plastic nut with a pair of pliers by turning it clockwise.
11. Remove the spacers and blades. The blades are numbered for reassembly.

Icemaker--
The icemaker is located in the upper rear of the freezer compartment and supplies ice to the dispenser tub.
1. Disconnect the icemaker cable connector.
2. Remove 1/4-in. icemaker mounting screws and slide out the icemaker.
This refrigerator is equipped with an Electronic Icemaker.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Water Dispenser not working

Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws
disconnect the line to the water dispenser at the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in and try the dispenser. if you hear the valve work but water doesn't come out, the valve is bad. If you don't hear the valve, the dispenser switch is bad.

The water despenser works but the icemaker doesn't

The most popular problem area is the fill tube by the icemaker. Check for an ice build up inside of the tube. If that isn't the problem, you must ck the coils on the filter valve and the coils on the supply valve with an ohm meter. Check for kinked water lines, leaky water lines etc. An after thought, make sure that the icemaker itself hasn't got a huge bunch of ice it built up and can't dump out.

Keeps making ice, i can't seem to make it stop.

You have an emitter and receiver in the freezer section...Actually when you slide the lever on the right side in the middle of the freezer section, you break the beam...and it is suppose to stop the ice maker from harvesting ice anymore. If this shut off device fails, it can fail in the on position and continue to make ice. Replace this assemlby sold in a kit and you will be fine. In the mean time, if you can remove the ice maker head and unplug it, that will stop the ice until you can replace the emitter and receiver assembly. You can also shut the water off but the ice maker will continue to operate, just not dispense ice. If extending and waiting on this repair you should disconnect the ice maker.....
