Honeywell visionpro My Vision Pro 8000 thermostat won't turn off my boiler, regardless of the temperature, or even if it's in heating or cooling mode. I actually have a second (identical) stat in the house, and I installed it on the same face plate, and the boiler went back to normal operation. Is there a way to reset or re-boot the thing? I already changed the batteries, and Honeywell said it's a bad unit. Weird problem.

SOURCE: Honeywell TH8320u Vision Pro 8000 Digital keeps calling for heat

Hi,
If the thermostat is not over shooting the temperature than don't worry about it.
These thermostats are very sensitive and will turn the heat back on even before the degrees drop on the display. Often they will shut down before the display changes also. You can change the sensitivity of the thermpstat if you read the directions and change the cycles per hour to a less number. There is an installers program in there that you need to push a combiunation of buttons to get too. The instructions tell you how to do that also.

Hopefully you did not throw away the instruction manual for your t-stat.. :-)

Even when system is turned off the fan runs. put batteries in as there were none, no change. is thermostat shot?this an ac/furnace unit with vision pro th8000 series thermostat

The issue is probably not the thermostat. The thermostat is a series of switches that turn on and off in respect to the temperature. Since it takes batteries and installing those made no difference there is a chance that a relay is stuck in the furnace or the thermostat. I have attached the testing and installation guide for you to look at. Honeywell VisionPRO TH8000 Series Installation Manual Installer System Test

Will a th5000 work with a ruud dual fuel

Are you talking about a pro 5000 Thermostat??? if so then NO it will not work. With this stat you do not have a temperature lock on the heat pump. Say you don't want the heat pump to run below 25 degrees. it won't shut the heat pump. And you don't want the heat pump to run at the same time as the furnace. With the Pro 8000 3 heat and 2 cool thermostat you can lock out the heat pump at 25 degrees outside an turn the furnace on. You will have to install an outdoor thermostat hooked up to the pro 8000 it usually comes with the stat. Honeywell products.

I have a visionPro 8000 in a system with heat/AC/ and heat pump recently installed. the vision pro does not have an auto position on the function switch. The manual, in a footnote says that only special...

Not sure which 8000 you have but it looks like all of them have the auto changeover option. Press system, you should see "heat/cool/auto/off" this is the auto changeover. So system is on auto, fan should be on auto. Send model number if you can't get it!

Set back thermostat has mind of its own.

The Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 can be complicated to figure out if it isn't set up right from the system menu. There are so many things that you can make it do, sometimes the most common things are wrong. My question is ''what kind of system do you have, heat pump or not?, and is the system gas or oil?" If I knew these things, I could definitely help you figure out if the thermostat is set up right. I have the manual so that I can give you exact numbers. Non-deletable schedule in VisionPRO TH8000

The thermostat has a function called "Adaptive Intelligent Recovery".

This feature allows the thermostat to learn how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings, so the temperature is reached at the time you set. For example: Set the Wake time to 6 am, and the temperature to 70°. The heat will come on before 6 am, so the temperature is 70° by the time you wake at 6.

You can turn off this function. Download the installation guide at the next link:
http://customer.honeywell.com/honeywell/ProductInfo.aspx/TH8321U1006
and look for funcion number 0530 Adaptive Intelligent Recovery. In this manual you also find the way to do a reset with the function number 0710.

I hope this solves your problem.
