This is a problem that needs to be checked at an Aerus Electrolux store. They have the tech manuals to troubleshoot the specific problems with the Renny (Renaissance). There are three possible problems involving the electronics in either the hose handle or the canister.
When the problem was first noted, customers brought their vacuums in and the service managers simply replaced the hoses. That resulted in burning out the boards in either the new hose or the vacuum, increasing the cost of warranty repair/part replacement. Electrolux quickly sent out service updates letting the service personnel know to stop the practice immediately. I can't remember how long it took before we finally got the proper troubleshooting data, but yes, there were a lot of problems with many of the machines. Fortunately for the store I worked at, there weren't many.

Obviously you are not familiar with Vaccuum Cleaner by Electrolux.....Yes It is a Renny.....
I am quite familiar with Electrolux vacuum cleaners actually. I have been a vacuum cleaner repair technician for over 25 years. I have never seen one called a Renny. If you are in Europe, that could be the reason as there are different names and different models over there.
Did not mean that you have not worked on vacuum cleaners, but to the avid Electrolux Dealer and Repairman of Electrolux its nickname is Renny and is short for Renaissance, in addition they were manufactured in the 1990's.
The Renaissance is the machine that started the bankrupcy of Electrolux. Most of them had defective electronics within the warranty period and put a heavy strain on the company financially.
