FRIGIDAIRE FRS22ZRGD2 WATER COLLECTS AND FREEZES ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FREEZER SIDE OF THE REFRIGERATOR. ONCE FROZEN OVER, WATER LEAKS OUT OF THE FREEZER BOTTOM ONTO THE FLOOR. I HAVE CLEANED OUT THE DRAIN TUBE LEADING FROM THE EVAPORATOR COILS.

ok this indeed worked. Thanks for the solution - it saved me a $125 service call.

One other question - on the refrigerator side I am noticing condensation collection on the rear upper section of the refrigerator near the water filter. Additionally, every once in a while - I notice the condensation collecting on the shelves. Any idea?

Water collects at the bottom of the tray on the right side of the refrigerator. It then starts to leak out (or over flows). The water is extremely cold and also ices

You may need to clean the drain tube again. the only other place that water may come from is the ice maker if it is over flowing. this however would be very obvious. use some thing like a length of cloths line cable to "snake" the drain after you defrost it. the fastest way to defrost it is to use hot water and a turkey baister. good luck.

Frigidaire fridge leaks where ice maker is on

Your leaking problem gives two possibilities. The water control valve for the ice maker side is defective and while shut off the water will continue to slowly flow and leak into the freezer compartment. The other possibility id the condensate defrost drain is blocked and frozen over behind the rear panel of the freezer and at the bottom of th coils. I believe your defrost condensate drain has a blockage of ice and will need to be defrosted and clean the condensate line from the freezer to the condensate collection plate below your refrigerator. Most times the blockage begins slowly until the opening of the drain hole under the evaporator freezes itself shut. Below is a link to some solutions I have collected over a period of time. Also has a short movie that makes the repair look simpler. There are many reasons for this happening for example water leaking from a water supply line for the dispenser or ice maker, a crack in the defrost pan, water leaking inside and draining through the refrigerator cabinet, but most are caused by a defrost drain line blockage. Below is a link that may be helpful so try to take it all in and use the parts that most refer to your specific problem, Thanks Sea Breeze

Leaking side by side

You have to unclogh the drain hole inside the freezer at the bottom of the back wall by pouring hot water into it until ice melts and keep pouring to make sure water goes through .Repeat this every 3 o 4 months to keep it clear.

Water collecting and freezing in bottom of freezer

Hi, Remove the rear inside panel of the freezer and locate the drain hole under the evaporator coil. Remove the ice and flush the drain hole with hot water to make sure it is free. You can try running a soft wire through the drain also.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Frozen or Plugged Defrost Drain

On Side By Side Refrigerator

The defrost drain pan is located at the bottom of the freezer compartment behind the back wall of the freezer. On some models the pan is accessible without removing the back panel and others are not.

Once you get to the defrost drain pan use a hair dryer to melt the ice from the pan.

Once the ice is removed use a turkey baster like this one: Turkey Baster http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=428708&PPStack=1

To squirt hot water into the drain hole to clear the drain.

When the drain is clear you should hear or see the water you are squirting into the hole enter the pan under or behind the refrigerator.

Water leaking underneath refrigerator/water freezing in bottom of freezer

I'm dealing with the same problem right now with the same refrigerator. The cold water tank (for the front dispenser) has a hole in it that leaks every time someone dispenses water from the front door. You will find the water tank behind the top slide-out drawer in the fridge. The leaked water flows down one of the water tubes through a hole in the bottom of the fridge and onto the floor. I'll bet you have the same problem. Good Luck.
