The steering wheel was turned when the key was removed. So when you try to turn on the key, turn the wheel one way and the other way to release the pressure on the key. The key should turn ok.
Hope this helps.
TRY GRABING THE STEERING WHEEL AND TURNING WHEEL AS YOU TURN KEY ,SOMETIMES THE KEY WILL HAND ON THE LOCK PLATE THAT LOCKS WHEEL AND MOVIN THE STEERING WHEEL AS YOU MOVE KEY MAY HELP
Try turning the steering wheel either way when turning the key. If the steering wheel is locked in place and the key must be turned to unlock it. If there's a lot of pressure on the steering wheel (like if somebody tried to turn it with the engine off and key out) it can be very difficult to turn the key if the steering wheel is locked.
