Hi.
First check if u r using compatible cartridges for your lexmark printer. You may use the following weblink to find the comaptible cartridges for lexmark printers:

http://www.lexmarkstore.com/store/lexmark/DisplayProductFinderPage

If using correct carts and stil issue, then check the below info to clean the print contacts and cartridges:

Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a dry lint free paper towel and gently wipe the contacts on the back of the cartridge (not the bottom from where ink is present). Wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier). Snap the cartridges back into the cartridge carrier.

To clean cartridge nozzles:

Click on "Start," go to "All Programs," and down to the Lexmark. Click on the "Solution Center." Next, click on the "Maintenance" tab. Select "Clean to fix horizontal strips." This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean to fix horizontal strips" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution Center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge (or cartridges) from the printer.
3. Get a damp paper towel.
4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.
5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean. Also, wipe the contacts inside the printer (on cartridge carrier).
6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.
8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install."
9. Repeat the "Clean to fix horizontal strips" one more time. If this fails to address the problem, the entire procedure may need repeating.

Try it out..
:-)

Cannon Pixma MG5520 printer

Remove all cartridges, clean the ink from where the cartridges make contact with cloth,(paper towels can leave trash in there) be sure all is clean then replace the cartridges and print something. Those streaks shouldn't be there any longer.

LEXMARK X1240 WON'T PRINT ENVELOPES

I was so pissed off that so many on the web had this same problem that I spent many hours trying to get it to work. I am sure that this is not how it is designed to work but my envelopes got printed.First I went under File, Print, Properties to Page Set-up for envelope #10. I also ********** print colour images in black and white which someone else had suggested- although it might not be necessary. I selected quick print but normal should probably work too. I then closed out these two windows. Then under tools, I selected Letters and Mailing, then envelopes and labels, typed in the addresses, went under options and changed the feed from automatic to default tray, which automatically changes the feed method to the 4th one out of 6 which wasn't what I wanted but ignore it. Check off face up. Putting the envelope into the printer was bizarre- it has to be inserted very far into the printer until only 2-3 inches of the envelope stick above the horizontal surface of the printer. It must be inserted into the middle of the paper holder, until it is just 2-3 inches sticking up, and then slide it all the way over to the right where the printer indicates the envelope should be- nice and straight against the right margin. Do not use the movable paper holders that they suggest you swing over to the right to hold your envelope- or printing won't occur for some odd reason. Press O.K. on envelopes and labels and then press print. Good luck- it worked for me.

HP Laserjet 3600n doesn't match screen color

Check the levels for your Magenta cartridge and replace if necessary.

Otherwise, Enter the properties of your printers driver in the control panel and establish if there is any advanced color management being used.

How do i get my printer to print in color instead of always black?

make sure you have a reasonably full color cartridge in the printer and check its color settings. start, control panel, printers, right cilck your printer and go to properties..make sure its not set to black and white. Also in the program you're printing from, click on print (dont use the print icon that auto-prints)..so file, print and make sure theres no options set there that are also set to black and white. if the printer has an lcd screen on it with a menu, you can also look there for settings.

Color Printer Inks

No.  The answer I have found it to  hook up another printer also. I use a  B & W pin printer for most of my printing and leave the color printer turned off unless I wantto print a color document. Both are installed at all the times. Windows allows me to specify which printer I wish to use.

Printing on textured or paper other than plain

change the ink, then if it doesn't print then it's the carriage or formatter. if the machine is under warranty then either take it back where you bought it or contact HP for replacement. if not under warranty then throw it away and buy another because the part s are unavailable. Good Luck!

Colors are way off on my screens

umm, im not trying to state the obvious but, have you checked that the colour setting is 32 bit colours (right click-properties-settings-colour quality)? also make sure that the correct drivers are installed for your monitor and GPU (graphics card). check that they are also up-to-date. also check the actual screen menu and make sure the colours are good, fidle around with them (RGB) until they are better (last resort!!!). about the printer...i have no idea!!, check out the properties when coming to print to check its not set as one colour, usually under the colour tab (for some odd reason hehe). check that the colours are equal and that certain boxes aren't ticked, i.e grayscale etc!. hope this kinda helps!
