If you have replaced the K cartridge, and it still gives you this message, it is due to the sensor bieng blocked or bad. Take out your K cartridge, clean out any loose toner. Do not blow it back into the unit. Use a cotton pad or cloth to clean it out. Then you have to clen the sensor itself. it is recessed on the right wall of the unit ,across where the K cartridge sits. Here is where you have to purchase a can of compressed air and shoot it into the opening with the plastic straw that comes with the can air.. (Again, do not blow air all over the inside of the unit!!) Just shoot it in the opening  to clean the sensor LED. This is a common problem caused by toner spills.
If I could be of further assistance let me know, Otherwise please rate this solution. Thanks,Joe

My Oki C5800 is not printing any black- toner is not out, drum is new. I have restarted computer, turned off/on printer, checked cables- not giving any messages. Help?

First of all try cleaning the black LED head with an alcohol wipe, next check the connection to the black LED head and make sure there is nothing blocking the light between this head and the top of the image drum. It may also be worth swapping the LED head between colours to see if the problem moves colour or stays with black. If after moving the head the problem still happens with black then it may indicate a problem with the image drum or an electrical problem. If you have another unit you could try swapping the drum and toner between units.

Oki c5800 printer with a sensor malfunction, where do I find this sensor? How do I eliminate this problem? Toner sensor error

The toner sensor (43131601) is located on the right side of the sub-chassis that holds the Drum/ Image units. It may be defective.

My Oki C5800 says "Replace Belt, 355: Belt Life" but I was told I could reset it without changing it if it was still good. How?

requires a fuse that sits underneath the transfer belt. However the belt itself would be full of waste toner that would need to be emptied

Found this at Fixyourownprinter.com

1. Turn machine on while pushing and holding the TWO up/down menu buttons at same time.
2. Menu window will show "OKI USER"
3. Scroll to " Engine Dialog Mode" is indicated. Push Enter button.
4. "Diagnostic Mode xx.xx.xx S-Mode is indicated.
5. Scroll to "NV-Ram initial" is indicated. Push ENTER.
6. Window shows "NV-Ram- Initial Table 1".
7. Push ONLINE and ENTER Buttons simultaneously and HOLD for 10 seconds after you see "Executing Reset" appear in menu window.
8. Restart printer.

All toner, drum, fuser and transfer figures return to 100%.

Worked for me when I had the same error. Hope it helps.

OKI c5100 Printing GREY instead of BLACK.

Not able to print a status page. Tried holding down menu 5 sec and no output. I searched the menu and am not able to find how to print status page. I did print out a demo page and the black is great but when i print out text (like the entire menu map) the black is grey. Let me know if there is anything else I can do.
