- Remove the cup holder. Open the cup holder completely. There is a small button to press in the middle. Pull it out.
- Remove the small piece of trim above the cup holder slot. This just pulls out.
- Remove 2 screws holding the console faceplate. They are at the bottom.
- Remove the console faceplate. Pull on the handle in between where you just removed the screws.
- Remove 2 screws holding in the DVD changer. Pull the DVD changer out - you'll need to use a bit of force, but pull it straight out.
- Unplug the 2 cables plugged in to the back of the DVD changer. Remove the unit and take it in the house to a well lit table work area.
- Remove the 1 screw from the top plate of the DVD changer.
- Remove the 4 screws around the sides of the faceplate. Gently remove the face plate. There are tabs holding it in place.
- Remove 5 screws holding the housing around the DVD player. Lift the player out of the housing.
- Disconnect the ribbon cable between the player and the housing. There is a slider which holds the ribbon securely. Slide that back and the ribbon comes out.
- Remove the 5 tiny scres holding the top plate on the DVD player. These are very tiny. You'll need a precision screwdriver. One screw is under a piece of plastic on the side.
- Disconnect the motor cable on the side. Use a small precision screwdriver to disconnect the wires and pull them forward out of the guidance notch,
- Remove the top plate of the DVD player internals.
- You can now lift the DVD's out of the player. To remove them from the spindle be very careful.
- Press the white center of the spindle and you can turn the DVD's off the spindle. There are thin metal spacers between each DVD. Be careful as you remove them. The center spindle is threaded like a screw, so turn the DVDs and spaces off carefully.
- Re-assemble the spacers onto the center spindle by aligning the 3 nothces on the spacers with the holes in the top of the spindle. Turn 1/2 turn and the holes in the spindle line up to insert the next spacer. Continue until all 6 spacers are on the spindle. The spacers should have the pressure pins going down.
- Put the center spindle back in place in the DVD player. It only fits one way.
- Put the top cover back on. Be very careful to align the teeth in the gears in the cover with the gears inside the player.
- Re-connect the wire to the motor with a precision scredriver and guide the 2 wires back into their guide channel.
- Re-connect the ribbon cable. Open the slot by sliding the connecter back, insert the ribbon cable, and push the connecter to secure the cable.
- Re-insert the DVD into the housing. Re-install the 5 screws.
- Re-attach the face plate and 4 screw.
- Re-attach the top plate.
- Put the unit back into the slot in the dashboard. Reconnect the 2 cables. When you push it back into place fully it will require some force. Put the 2 screws back in.
- Re-attach the dash face plate. Put the 2 screws back in.
- Put the molding piece back on and insert the cup holder. Both just slide into place.
Tnx! Perfect Directions.
Could you please tell me if you got blinking lights on DVD player after reinsert ingredients it....if so, how did you resolve it. Thanks
I did not get blinking lights. The DVD player worked again for a while, but this problem reoccurred about every 3-6 months. It seems like there is a design flaw or perhaps a wear issue in the DVD player.

Look around the face plate for a very small hole...use a straightened paperclip or equivalent and press in a few inches...its a manuel door release and you should gain access to at least the loading tray.
A hammer will work excelent on thatand i would be fun!! however if you want your cd back hit eject on it and try to use tweezers on it.
