Question about Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm SLR Camera

1 Answer

Battery I have a Canon SLR 35mm and I have bought a lot of batteries in the pat two months. I am a photographer and I know what I am doing most of the time. I can not figure out why my brand new battery keeps dying on me after 1 or 2 shots. At first I thought maybe it was just the shelf life had expired on these things. Everyplace I go it does not matter. Any suggestions?

If this camera is a Canon Rebel K2 the problem may be that it might need a new main drive motor. I have replaced two drive motors in the last couple of days in these cameras. When the motor starts to go bad the film transport may stop in mid cycle and the battery check indicator starts to blink. The battery draw becomes excessive and the camera shuts down. Of course, there may be other problems but this a common one. Hope this helps.

Battery door

To purchase a battery door for your D10, go to eBay and search for "10D battery door." You will see several for sale and they run around $7.00.

Hope that helps,

Where do I find the memory battery in my Canon Rebel XS digital

As far as I know, the backup battery is not user-replaceable. You may need to take the camera to a repair shop for replacement of that battery.

My canon eos rebel k2 will not turn on even with brand new batteries in it. What could be wrong?

Dirty contact in the battery compartment, bad power circuit, bad switch etc. Too many things to be able to fix in this forum. Send it in for service or buy another used one, that may cost a lot less than getting yours repaired.

Battery door

Hi,
I am in the same position with broken battery covers. A local camera shop has been ordering replacements for me. They said the battery cover from Nikon fits the Vivitar but this can only be ordered from an authorized dealer. Try a local camera store.
Hope this helps

Camera battery is dead and was just bought a week ago

If the contacts have been cleaned in the battery chamber, check the lower contact post - it's spring loaded and often gets stuck and doesn't make good contact with the battery. A little WD40 usually will free it up. Your batteries are probably still good.
