Kitchen aid pasta roller won't move when I put into the machine

SOURCE: we need to find a

Here's my solution. I purchased an 8mm zinc-plated brass hex standoff from http://www.mcmaster.com (part number 92080A053). It is 25mm in length and has internal threads for an M4 screw. It fit perfectly into the nylon gear plug without modification. I had a colleague from work bore out a hole with his drill press (removing the internal threads) and turn down the exterior with a lathe to create a weak spot (mechanical fuse). See the attached image for the finished product. It doesn't match the original dimensions exactly but it is close and will suffice. You don't necessarily have to do the extra machining work if you don't have access to that equipment, but as jeffrey_w325 states in his post, this part is supposed to be the weak link and fail first. If you don't machine the part down, just be extra careful when using the pasta attachment. Good luck!4_3_2012_1_04_19_am.jpg

How do I adjust the roller width of my pasta maker as it seems to be 'locked' @ #6

If the roller width of your pasta maker seems to be locked at a specific setting, like #6, and you're unable to adjust it, here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:
  1. Inspect for Obstructions: Check for any debris, pasta dough residue, or foreign objects that might be blocking the mechanism responsible for adjusting the roller width. Clean the machine thoroughly and remove any obstacles that could be causing the locking.
  2. Lubrication: Sometimes, the adjustment mechanism can become stiff due to lack of lubrication. Apply a small amount of food-grade lubricant or vegetable oil to the moving parts and joints, and work the adjustment knob back and forth to help loosen it up.
  3. Gently Apply Pressure: While the machine is off and unplugged, try gently applying pressure to the adjustment knob while attempting to turn it. This might help release any stuck parts or overcome resistance.
  4. Wiggle and Jiggle: Gently wiggle and jiggle the adjustment knob while attempting to turn it. Sometimes, this slight movement can dislodge any stuck components and allow for proper adjustment.
  5. Use a Tool: If the knob is particularly stubborn, you can use a pair of pliers or a wrench (wrapped in a cloth to prevent scratching) to help turn the knob while applying gentle pressure. Be cautious not to apply too much force to avoid damaging the machine.
  6. Consult the Manual: If you still have the manual that came with the pasta maker, refer to it for troubleshooting tips specific to your model. There might be manufacturer-recommended solutions for this issue.
  7. Contact Customer Support: If none of the above steps work, it might be best to contact the manufacturer's customer support or service center for assistance. They can provide you with more detailed guidance or arrange for repairs if necessary.
Remember, always exercise caution when working with kitchen appliances, and avoid using excessive force that could potentially damage the machine further. If you're not comfortable attempting these steps yourself, it's better to seek professional assistance to avoid causing further damage to your pasta maker.

Kitchen aid pasta roller is locking up

You will need to follow your nose and carefully dismantle it to see where the fault is. As far as I am aware Kitchen Aid supply no parts for this accessory, it comes as a complete unit only.

TABLE CLAMP BROKE

These clamps can be bought 2 ways, look for pasta machine clamp or craft clay roller clamp on eBay. The clay roller entire machine set is much cheaper than the pasta machine, but they have the same clamp.

Pasta Machine turning pasta sheets out with lots of holes? What are we doing wrong?

Start with the rollers farthest apart and when you first start rolling the dough will be uneven and have a few hole. But as you roll the dough over and over, it will be smooth with no holes in nice flat sheets. Rollthe dough twice on each setting, starting with the biggest number and rolling down to the smallest number for very thin sheets of pasta. Good luck. I have a recipe and videos on my website at http://noodlemakermachine,com.
