Olympus will charge a flat rate repair fee for this product if beyond the one year factory warranty or the warranty is voided. The cost is $112 plus your local sales tax. This covers parts and labor, factory cleaning and diagnostic check, 6 month warranty and the cost of shipping the product back to you is all included in that price.
There should be a menu with settings in record for videos. there may be a joystick button with settings which can be changed to set to video mode. Just in Time for Christmas then! So decisions - live with out the screen- it appears to be a connexion failure or a main board failure. Or replace the camera - a repair will cost almost as much.
same problem, faint sound,and parasite buzz sound too .. olympus repaired it (garanty) but still now the problem isn't solved, i'm going to send it again ...we'll see.
