Hello
If your DVD player shows no disc, even a disc is inserted, try to clean its laser head assembly, by inserting a cleaning disc in it and play atleast three times. Take it ejected each time before you play it. If it does not helps, open the top cover of your DVD player, insert a disc, and notice if the disc spins or not. If disc spins, and not reads, the laser picup unit of your DVD player is faulty, and should be replaced with same type and number. If its stripe wire connected between pickup unit and main board is detachable, try repalcing the strip wire first. In some occations, bad strip wire will show this type of problem.
If disc does not spins, the sled motor [the motor that used to spin the disc at high speed], is damaged and shoud replace it. OK.
The most common reason for the Wii not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:
store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr
This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your game including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your game going again!!!!!!!
dvd player keeps saying no disc when I try to play a dvd.what can i do? worked fine until about 3 months ago. started to say no disc when disc inserted but after opening and closing 3 to 6 times it would read.now it just wont read. any ideas?
i think the cd or dcd disc inside stuck-up you have to insert the tiny hole located at the dvd rom and insert a needle or something that is similiar or smaller of the hole size of that locted in your dvd rom.usually its new the LED blinking when opening or inserting the disc. and now you can now eject your disc manually regarding your question about it won't play a dvd try first to clean your DVD disc with a micro fiber cloth, avoid you'll scratch it, if still the same i think you're dvd room is defective.
HI,. this is a lens assembly fault. the lens is malfunctioning or, it may have stopped reading. this wrong disc code is just a universal warning that is concerning a fault if the main boarddoesn'treceive any data(audio, video) when the disc is inserted.
Due to the integrated status of your unit, this will be a costly repair because, the entire assembly is combined together with the vcr section as well.
You will need to replace the entire assembly to fix this issue. the lens has burned out.
you can confirm my diagnosis by preforming a cleaning of the lens with a cleaning disc. if the unit continues to not read or play a CD after the cleaning, this will confirm my diagnosis.
I had the same problem, After googling for a few minutes I found the reset procedure for this player.
1. Turn it on. 2. Eject any disk you have in there and close the tray. 3. Hold down the "STOP" button on the player (not remote) until the green light flashes red and the system reboots. 4. Insert disk and enjoy.
There are several things you can do to try and solve your problem:
Make sure that the DVDs you try to play are encoded for the right region.
Make sure that the transportation lock (usually a plastic screw on the bottom of the unit), is not engaged.
Turn off player with disc inserted, unplug temporarily from wall outlet, plug back in and turn back on.
