Then do the software upgrade and see..

But, usually it should read the SIM card even without a software upgrade(Theoretically). I think there is a problem with your software version. A software upgrade would fix the issue.

The Software Upgrade menu allows you to upgrade the player's software for performance improvements or additional
services.
• Never turn the player off or back on manually during the update process.
1) In the Home menu, select the Settings, and then press the ENTER button.
2) Select Support, and then press the ENTER button.
3) Select Software Upgrade, and then press the ENTER button.
4) Select one of the following methods:
• By Online
• By Channel
• By USB
• By Disc
• By Downoaded
• Standby Mode Upgrade
5) Press the ENTER button.

I want to upgrade software

Download Itunes. Install. Plug Iphone into computer via USB cable. It will automatically bring up a upgrade software question. Press yes to accept. It will download latest IOS software and automatically upgrade the phone. Remember to Backup data. You can also update your phone via WIFI by going to "settings" "general" and look for the Software upgrade option.

Sony ericsson software upgrade

You can upgrade the software of your phone by yourself within 30mins. Just go to www.sonyericsson.com . go to downloads & download the Software update service application into your PC. Now run the application & folllow thwe steps as indicated in the application. Within 30mins yo will have the software upgraded for your phone. Only data in phone memory will be lost during this process so please take a back up of the data before upgrading the software.

Vid card upgrade

do u mean upgrade software or upgrade card.
upgrade software ....goto device manager locate hardware...update driver(you may find you already have the latest drivers and cannot upgrade,cos there isnt an upgrade)
upgrade card is to replace/change card requiring a little knolledge of disassembly.

According to information provided by the manufacturer, the "software upgrades" that are included with specific 16GB iPod Touch models are part of Apple's January software upgrade. The upgrade provides e-mail functionality, access to Google maps, weather forecasts, stock market tracking and a notepad program for the iPod Touch.

Apart from this slight change in pre-installed software, there should not be any other difference between the two 16GB iPod Touch models available through your local Best Buy™ store - they have identical hardware specifications.

Please keep in mind that a product's model number may change slightly whenever a minor cosmetic or major software update occurs. In this particular case, the model number MA627LL/A was superseded with model number MA627LL/B to reflect the changes in the factory-installed programs. Both models are considered to be the same generation of hardware.
