Try this I have had machine similar apart
On the left hand side (Facing the printer) behind side cover sits a micro pump for the ink. Pull cover and check that belt is OK from gear to micro pump. You should be able to just turn back and forth- not too much, the large pulley on the pump. There will be some friction here..... I think you can turn on machine OK with this cover off and see if pulley is turning

If you installed the "HP Support Toolkit" software from the CD-ROM that came with the printer, use this Toolkit to "run a cleaning cycle".
It can print a "test" page, to show you which colours _do_ work, and which do _not_ work.
If all else fails, then find a qualified printer technician.
i have a problem with my hp 8250 the error code Oxc18a030a keeps on coming up and says to put my 8250 off than on every time i do this the same message appears
This video is for the C7280, but the instructions are supposed to be true for the 8250. Usually that message when you have paper means that the rollers in the printer are slick and not picking up paper. The video shows how to fix that.
I had the same problem. what i did was : from the printers menu go to tools and perform a "clean printhead". worked for me , hope it works for you too.
