These blinks to standby light are fault indications, called blinking codes. From the number of blinks occur at one time switch on, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside it. This is a plasma unit and philips plasma's are nortorious for bad power supplys, your problem may very well be the power suppy in the television, it is possible you blew a low B+ fuse on the power supply. There is also a issue with the Y-sustain board failing in this model, If you open the back and looking at the unit from the rear the y board is on the left side of the unit and the PS is in the center. disconnect the Y-sustain power plug from the power supply and turn on the unit if the unit stays on with no red light then the y board is bad. it does the same then replace the Power Supply.

This is common problem of the failure of power supply board inside TV. You need technician to figure out this problem.

I also have this model. A few months ago, when I turned on the tv, it told me my lamp was in need of replacement. just yesterday, my tv did the same as you....the blue light flashed and then the lamp light kept flickering. All I can say is your lamp needs to be replaced.

My tv wont turn on. It tries to turn on the green light lights up 3 times then nothing. what is wrong?

I have a 61" JVC that just stoped working. I turn it on and nothing bu the blue light stays on and the red light blinks 8 times and then the blue light joins in.

Refere to Sony Blinking Codes :
5 Blinks ===> cause AKB circuit (AKB). Something is wrong with the video. check components on the C board, also check the A board. Also unit be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
