I just got me a used P1100 monitor. I plug it in and i get power but the monitor screen reads nothing... i tried every config from switches/video input but nothing is on the screen. I cant even get a menu for the actually hardware. I am wanting to know if this is fixable/worth the money or if i should just scrap it.
Thanks
Try it on 2 PCs or just 1?, be wise to do both . no?
it takes computer to make the monitor work
sync signals on 2 pins. horz/.vertical/.
then the monitor menu key will show the OSD screen
if not it's dead.
the CCFL tubes fail first (they are short lived ! unlike a LED monitor from 2010 to now, why not upgrade.?
its 18 years old, now, do you expect CCFL tubes to last that long?
1999 it was made.
here is the manual
it tells you all steps to diagnose it
but the magic test, called the flash light test.

I suspect that when you reattached the monitor back you might have moved the agp card out of her slot. Check if you have connected properly your monitor to the pc And if the agp is in it's slot properly attached. Hope it helps, good luck!!
SOURCE: Blank Screen
Can you see anything at on but dimly? If so thats is the backlight tube If you cannot see anything then it is a major fault eitherway a repair shop job I should think
SOURCE: Going to Sleep
Due to the power surge, it is highly possible that the monitor was given a boot by your computer on it's way out.
This will short out a very small transistor inside the monitor on the video board and in turn, then monitor cannot see that there is a signal so goes to sleep.
If you get brave enough to venture inside the screen, then check near the cable input. The transistors are only around 3mm and have 3 legs (two one side and one in the middle on the other).
If you find anything like that burnt (get a magnifying glass) then replacing the board is the easiest option. Just don't be tempted to wipe the board before you look at everything very closely, you may wipe away the tiny bit of evidence you are looking for.
Hope it helps =)

You may need an adapter plug. They come with new monitors so ask around to see if anyone has one you can borrow.
SOURCE: Monitor going to sleep upon Bootup.
monitor only displays what the computer is doing or saying. when the computer goes to sleep the monitor tells you by displaying the message and then gives you a blank screen when the computer has gone off.that is why even another monitor does the same. so, the problem is with your computer and not the monitor. try to boot the computer in safe mode and set the monitor settings. if it does the same on next bootup, then i think you need to re-install windows.
