Alarm sounds when using the FOB to unlock/Lockyer car and opening any doors. The power door locks work and the alarm/door lock work properly for a few minutes after it shuts itself off. When you go to use the FOB/door lock again, the alarm sounds off again. I've tried disconnecting the battery cables for more than 15 min. with no results. I checked the door connectors and noticed corrosion and cleaned them out, no results. I even disconnected the driver and passenger door connectors to see if there was a problem there, no results. I live more than 2 hrs away from the nearest dealership so I'm hoping someone can help me out.

SOURCE: alarm system goes off by itself

Your system may have a backup battery that has low voltage when the car is turned off. You may have to look under the dash to see if you can find the main computer for the alarm.

SOURCE: alarm sounding upon unlocking door with key

there is a sensor that tells the anti theft module you used the key to unlock the door, it is attached to the door latch or lock cylinder, u must have disconnected the wire to the sensor, so it thinks u are breaking into the car.

SOURCE: 2004 jeep cherokee alarm ... I lock my door every

because the alarm system is tied into so many other system on the Jeep you cant just kill it but you could unhook the horn control circuit for the alarm so it at least the horns wont honk every time you open the door, by the way if you get a new key flob this would take care of the problem the system is designed so evey time you unlock the doors with the key flob the alarm shuts off, but all you need to do is locate the Body control module it is mounted to the fuse block at the left end of the dash you need to find termanal # 6 a gray/orange wire and just cut it this will stop the alarm from honking the horn, the lights will still flash but no horn.....good luck

let me know if there is any thing else you need.

I assume the factory alarm was somehow bypassed when they installed the remote start is there a way I can make the factory alarm work when the doors are opened without key,?

To arm content theft alarm.
1. Open the door.
2. Lock the door with the power door lock switch or
the remote keyless entry transmitter. The
SECURITY light should flash.
3. Close all doors. The SECURITY light should go off
after approximately 30 seconds. The alarm is not
armed until the SECURITY light goes off.

If a locked door is opened without the key or the remote keyless entry transmitter, the alarm will go off. The headlamps and parking lamps will flash for two minutes, and the horn will sound for 30 seconds, then will turn off to save the battery power.

Alarm key fob set off alarm

If you lock the car with the key, you must open it with the key, or alarm will sound. If you lock on fob you must open on fob. If you use ke y, place in ignition quickly to silent alarm. Good luck

Panic switch

The alarm is armed if keyfob is used. So you must use the fob to disarm alarm first. So someone can not unlock and open door without keyfob or alarm will be set off.

If the passkey is messed up, there will be a light on the dash that says security, or have a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If there is no light when the key is turned forward, then its NOT a passkey problem.

You should be able to just unlock the door with the key, and even if the alarm is still going of try to start it the key should override the alarm.

you may have a bad door switch, theres a switch on the drivers door lock, when door is unlocked with fob or key the switch is activeated to shut alarm down, the lock moves to hit switch with key or fob,so if the switch is bad it will not shut down alarm, i would start there, door panel has to be remove, then latch has to be remove to get to switch, then test with a meter see if it opens and closes the connection, hope this helps.

Jag S-Type -intermitent fault where the remote fob does not work

This does not sound like a fob fault - but a locking control module fault , either in the hardware or software of the unit. Get it checked at a Jaguar dealers. When unlocking using the key - as soon as the door is opened you should hear a chime sounding inside the car - this is a timer counting down to sounding the alarm. If you put your key in the ignition as soon as you open the door the alarm should not go off and the chime should stop. If it does not this again points to a fault in the locking controller.
hope this helps - good luck.
