Need a new water pump and can't find one - Franklin Freezer Chef FIM70 Commercial Ice Maker

If you want the ice maker work. you will to pay for the repair, If you want you cam another company.. Or you can do nothing which is nothing

Mine is similar and the little pump motor failed on it. Bought
a new unit. Couldn't find a pump for it

you can replace the housing only, Check with your local Hoshi supplier for parts. Start there as a new pump is very pricy.

most likely that's your problem. New pumps very expensive.

Attach a volt meter to the pump wire terminals and check for voltage fluctuations while in the freeze mode.

there is the possibility there is trash caught in the impeller that is causing noisy operation.

Other than that, sometimes the pumps will run loud. Its usually a early sign of motor failure. Not much you can do there.

I would recommend you order a new pump and have it at least on standby. And be prepared, Hoshi is proud of their parts and it shows in the price.



In short, if theres nothing caught anywhere, let it roll til it dies and then replace it.

a few things to check, first off is adequate water supply(obviously).. next check your drain system, if your unit gravity drains look for a blockage, but if you have a secondary drain pump to pump away water check for proper operation, if that pump fails the machine will no longer let water in( thinks it full and no need to produce more ice if it cant get rid of old water

Check the condenser if it is restricted in any way it will decrease ice production. Check for water overflow from the sump. Any more water than necessary entering the sump will also cause a decrease in ice production.

Always attempt to have Hoshizaki pumps rebuilt when possible. The parts are cheap compared to buying a new pump. Check ebay from time to time I have just started tearing units down and selling the used parts, that are still functional. Sold that pump for $75 last week
