Problem printing with Lexmark X1270

The problem I am having is I can scan, and I can copy, the only thing that I can not do is print from the computer. The install went find, all I did was turn the computer off, and when I turn it back on I was unable to print. I have tried un-loading and re-loading the software still the same problem, I am using WIN-XP.

Are you using firewall software? It sounds strange, but for some reason the computer can't talk to the printer unless you "Allow" access to the printer software. Try to reset your firewall software so it will prompt you again and make sure you choose "Always Allow".

My printer copies and prints all right. However,

A separate software should have came with your unit. Call your manufacture if you dont have that software and if you have Vista you dont need it

It's called Windows Gallery and it detects your multifunction printer to scan as well as that software that came in the box for your printer.

Does the Lexmark X1270 Fax as well as scan? I don't have the instructions??

It is a multifunction unit, it will scan,copy,fax and print. Here is the user manual:

My lexmark 1200 series all-in- one will only print in small texts. how do I increase the text size. I have window xp.

Is this the driver you downloaded. If so , sounds like a Lexmark software or driver problem. I am a little confused as the heading on you question says x1270 but the bold type says 3350?

Tru completely uninstalling it and reinstalling it from disc. The scanner settings may have corrupted. Cheers lilacgerry

If you have the original installation disc, reinstall the software.
Windows probably trashed the Lexmark software.

If you hear the machine working when you try to copy or scan and the light source doesn't come on, you will need the lamp replaced; on some units and easy job, on others, you may end up saying 'to hell with it.'
