Check if the speakers are plugged into a correct "hole" on your computer. Usually it should be the one colored green. If no green, then look for black. Sometimes it also has a symbol (headphones) or word "out".

Also, check if your speakers need power in order to produce sound. Things usually work better when turned on.

Do your speakers require power? If so are they powered? You can tell just by hearing static/noise when you disconnect the speakers connector and plug it back in.

If they are not powered, are you sure you are plugged into the correct port on the PC? It will have 2 half circles with an arrow pointing outward.

If none of the above work, try plugging the speakers into something else to see if they work, like a CD player, or cell phone (if you have a new one with RCA output). This will check and see if the speakers are actually working or not.

Testimonial: "The sound comes for a while after rebooting, plays for sometime then stops while the playing signal continues, could it be a hardware problem? maybe with the audio out ports?"

My Sony MD player, the MDS JA555ES works fine but i got issues with the display. Some parts of the display light up for 50%. e.g. when i hit play the pause and record indicator as well as the music...

I hate to be the one who tells you, but is not fixable. The display might be replaceable, but I can't tell if the problem is with the display or the thing inside that puts info on the display.

Here is the user's manual and the service manual http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MDS-JA555ES.html

It's a great machine, even if it doesn't have MDLP.

Try to memorize the buttons.

We have an HCL desktop computer. Though we had loaded Ac97 Sound Driver still the sound is not coming (totally soundless) Can you suggest what to do?

Try to download and save the Audio Driver and then Run it to overwrite the Drivers and then restart right away. Make sure that you select the right operating system. Normally when you restart, you'll already hear the sound for shutting down and the welcome sound.

http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=23&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

Then try to play the sample music using Windows Media Player. Try to use a headset if there's one available. If it's still quiet,

Note: you'd need a sound blaster or any desktop speaker to be able to hear any sounds. But if there's already a speaker built-in, then it that means the speakers are defective.
Hearing a beep is not the speaker you use to hear the music.

Hope this helps.

Hi. I have power and my i pod charges, but no sound is transmitted even though the i pod indicates it is playing whilst connected to the Zeppelin. Any ideas.

could be the arm, or the interface from the arm to the pcb. if you can play via the aux input it is the arm, if that fails then it is one of the boards inside, contact place of purchase or b and w service.

Wharfedale s20030 speakers broken?

First, check input power (electricity) of your speaker. You can see lamp indicator on speaker (usually LED lamp, Light Emitting Diode, green light or else) must be light ON.
Two, jack line out (usually green) on the speaker, you must touch that jack. Don't worry, you can't heart attack cause of it (for touching that jack, DC-Direct Current supply). If you hear some noise, sound of droning, buzzing, that is indicate of sound will be come out from that speaker.
Three, you play WinAmp software (or Windows Media Player, from Microsoft) and get in one of mp3 file, and load it into WinAmp player. Make sure if your mp3 file is normally sound.
Four, plug in your green jack (of speaker) to the line in of your sound card (refer to mainboard PC, if your soundcard get in ONBOARD or plug in PCI slot). Green jack line of speaker to socket green of sound card.
Five, now you can hear sound of your song....
