Question about GE Cooktops

GE coquette stove

The elements don't seem to come out so I can clean the stove top and catch trays under the elements... Do they come out? I don't want to pull too hard in case I wreck the wiring.

Is this unit set up for natural gas or propane? New stoves usually come with ORIFACES for both gasses. They would install between the on/off knob and the burner tube under the stove top. They may be tapped to the under burner area of your stove. If you lift your top stove cover you may find them. If you don't find them, you may need to purchase the correct applications for your stove. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Boil element caught on fire and melted.

If element caught on fire, I would suspect stove needs cleaning. Do that then elements should not smoke for long. (I hope all moisture was removed from stove!!!)

Front right burner has high flame on left and low on right had a service call and GE tech said this is normal so you don't get pot handle hot, sounds absurd to me. Any input

Are the burners uniform around top? Pictures show that there is a slot on one side. The tech is probably right.. You are not the only person complaining about this. Call back and see if there is a different burner that will fit you stove.

I have a Fisher & Paykel CE901 36" electric

Sorry, I don't have a solution, but a similar problem. My CE901 is 6 years old. One of the regulators broke after one year. The repair (under warranty) caused an electric fire a couple of weeks later. After much complaining, I got a replacement cooktop from F&P. Now, 5 years later, one regulator stopped working, no longer turns on the element. (I guess that's better than no longer turning it off.) You are not alone. Seems like F&P is incapable of producing a simple regulator that works reliably.

How do I access the spill tray under the element of a chef stove in order to clean it?

Make sure that all of your burners are off and cool. Raise the stove top. It should tilt from front to back. There will likely be rods inside to hold the top open.

All 4 ignators are spaking with the contrtols on off position on my GE JGP328 cook top

It's the Switch Harness. Do not remove the stove and disconnect it from the gas. Turn the gas off under the stove. Take off the: knobs and the plate; burners; hxw screws. Pull burners out and disconnect igniter burners. Lift the top of the oven off. The Switch Harness is on the right, under where the knobs are located. Replace the Switch Harnes.

I did not receive instructions with my G E Profile cook top Model No. 80030750434). There is a build up on the elements which I am having problems removing. Should the top be scraped while the stove is hot or cold? What is the best cleaning product to use?
