When you replaced the burnt out selector did you notice any other damage? The selector switch may be connected to the energy input control. Most circuits have some sort of control, allowing only the right amount of energy to be put in. If this got damaged, the fuse would be inconsistent.
That is an older model, so the wiring diagram will be harder to find. Have you already checked the manual? I would also suggest checking online at the manufacturer's website. Other than that, you can try online.
