Using epson r220 on a pc i see a complete list of printer settings on one form/popup.
When using the same printer on a intel based macbook, tiger 10.4 etc [up to date s/w] i can not see the same form/popup and some of the selections are crossed out in the std mac printer stuff. have reset the printer, downloaded the new drivers and rebooted the machine, in the order defined on the epson web site.
any suggestions would be welcome

I think you will relive
to print you have to
1- remove the old driver from your mac
2- install the driver agin
3- do a nozzle check on the printer
4- if the mac didn't recognize the printer so you have to change the usb printer cable with a new one
thank you and good luck
Hi, please find the link to the latest leopard-compatible driver for your printer here:
A communications error usually means that there's a problem with the connection between the printer and the computer.
This could be because of a duff USB cable or something pulling on (and damaging) the connections. However I've also heard of this behaviour when using the SSC utility in an attempt to reset the waste ink counter which I'm guessing is what you're trying to do.
If you are based in the USA I'd recommend filling out the form for this utility: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jsp
It does invalidate your warranty but the R220 is that old that you won't have anyway.
If that doesn't work then you could try looking for an adjustment utility but be warned they are a lot more complex and it's easy to bork your printer if you're now careful. Keywords: "eserviceinfo r220 adjustment utility"
I have an Epson Stylus Rhoto R220 inkjet printer for 10 months and i would like to know if its going to work with Vista Windows PC or it won't recognize my printer. How do I upgrade it or get it compatible ?Thaks
Well, that's true you need to have an original ink to achieve the perfect color... but then its too expensive... I use "bottomless ink" search that at Google website to have an idea... so far I have perfect colors.
