If you wanto refill the cratridge,even after refill you'll need to reset your printer page count to 0.Download the firmware from here run the software and this will reset the page count to 0. Samsung printers generally do not support a refilled cartridge and thus the red light.But resetting the page count to 0 makes the printer detect the cartridge as an intoductory one.

Go to "Printers and Faxes" in the "Control Panel" and check to see if your printer shows any documents waiting to be printed, Cancel these documents and Right click your printer icon select "Properties" and select "Print Test Page" to test your connection...For varies reasons documents sometimes fail to print and the printer queue backs up

Blinking drop light on HP6122 signifies an ink cartridge is out of ink. There are two cartridges -- color (larger of two) and black (smaller of two). Blinking drop light only indicates either, but not which. HP6122 service software and print driver are available from HP website http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=83027&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us. HP6122 service software has a printer maintenance utility which includes ink cartridge monitor. Use the maitenance service utility to determine which (or both) cartridge is out of ink. With cartridge replacement, printer should automatically print test page, then reset and be ready for printing from your computer. To clear printed documents from print que, open the HP6122 print que via control panel > printers > double-click on HP6122 driver to show que > select document tab > select cancel.
It is not a computer problem, when your printer won't come to ready. The lights flashing are due to a failure of some sort - electronic, or perhaps a fuser warm up problem. The fact is, whatever the fault, it is cheaper to replace this printer than have it repaired.

I hope you didn't 'throw it out the window!' just for a future quick ref, here are a couple fast links to hp support docs about paper jams and blinking lights that might help:
if they were initially flashing fast there is a fatal error and a repair is needed, but always try a re install first.
Go to printers and faxes folder and go to your Epson C88 printer icon, right click on it and select cancel all documents or prints, then select uninstall, to remove the printer.
Uninstall driver from add/remove programmes, turn off and remove printer from usb port and restart pc.
Install the drivers and software again from the cdrom and when prompted to connect printer, switch it on but connect to a different usb port if possible and allow windows to detect and install.
If the lights are still steady red or flashing fast, then the printer is faulty.
