Cadco convention oven chimmy not working

There could be a few reasons why your Cadco convention oven isn't producing steam. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Make sure the water reservoir is filled. The oven won't produce steam if there's no water to create it.
  2. Check the steam valve to ensure it's open. If it's closed, the steam won't be able to escape the oven.
  3. Clean the steam generator. Over time, mineral deposits can build up in the generator, reducing its efficiency.
  4. Check the heating element. If the element is damaged or not functioning properly, it could be causing the wheezing noise you're hearing.
If these troubleshooting steps don't resolve the issue, it's possible that there is a more serious problem with the oven. In that case, it may be best to contact a professional appliance repair service for further assistance.

Turned on preheat for 275 to toast pecans. Took much longer that expected to heat up. Put nuts in oven and after 8 minutes they were black!!

Call your vendor for service.
*** The following is for information only ***
* If your old school then this is a common problem with old ovens. Most will not use the dial setting and put one or more oven thermometers on the top and bottom shelf. Cookie bakers even have them on each shelf.
* The newer digital ovens still have to be checked with a good oven thermometer just to be sure it's heating properly. Call for service to have the oven calibrated if it's way off (over 50 F)
* Older dial ovens can be re-calibrated by adjusting the inner screw. But if adjustment is required then it's usually a sign of equipment starting to fail. (I adjusted ours but it eventually failed after 6 months.)
* All ovens will kick in high heat after the door has been opened. This loss of heat will turn on all required heating elements in order to return to the set temperature. If you have a pan near one of these elements then it will probably burn. Try to stay away from the very top or bottom shelf.
* If your using a convection (or the professional steamer oven) then check if the fan (or steam) is turning on as required. This fan will circulate the hot air to a more even flow over the product. (steam requires a critical adjustment to determine the correct application and timing of steam to achieve desired results)
* Final, It's possible you oven thermostat is stuck (heating always on). Call for service to check.

I over heated, the serpentine belt snapped. Opened the hood to find steam rapidly coming out of both the antifreeze and out of the engine right by the head gasket. It wasn't smoke not blue or black jus

Perform a compression test on your cylinders. One unfortunate result of overheating is the blown head gasket. Without compression your motor will not run. Tester are not super expensive or some stores will lend tools.

Steam switch won't work

f the iron heats but steams improperly, inspect the soleplate and clean the vents (see below) and flush sediment out of the steam chamber (see below).

If the iron produces too much or too little heat, test the electrical cord . Also test and, if needed, adjust calibration of the thermostat .

God bless you

There is steam inside the microwave when my food is heating up. Is this dangerous?

If the steam is not leaking out of the microwave it is no problem. Steam is normal when you heat moist items. If it is leaking out you need to replace the door seal, but steam will not start a fire.

Preheats very slowly. Also, steam cleaning option seems to not be effective due to low heat. Is there more than one lower oven heating element?

For the oven their is 2 elements 1 for bake and 1 for broil, are each glowing red hot on the respictive settings of bake and broil? their is no trird hidden element. Plus i know manufactures come out with new features all the time,i attend factory trainging sessions a couple times a year but i am confused as to what the "STEAM CLEAN OPTION" IS??
THE SELF CLEAN cycle utilizes both elements to clean the oven adding steam is a new one on me

No steam from a grime buster steam cleaner what is wrong?

Check the water reservoir for clogg. Be sure that the cleaner has water on it and it is heating. .If not heating there you'll sure it won't give steam. Check the heating element for open or no continuity.
Heated water needed to generate or produce steam and you'll need a continuity tester to test it. Replace it with similar model and rating also with same size.
Good luck.
