This could be vibration from a badly made disc where the hole is not exactly in the middle. Try another disc.

Cd player does not work,no sound

May be discs is put in wrongly, the VCD.
Car CD put VCD is not sound and reading is normal, because the CD and VCD is a format for encoding, VCD containing video data flow without the corresponding chip can't decode so silent.

Hello, I have a Jwin JD-VD522 player. All of my dvd's and vcd's have been playing properly except one I just ordered will not play. Now I contacted the company in which I ordered the VCD and they claim...

Hi! i think the vcd format you have acquired is not compatible with your player format. ask the company where the vcd was purchased and ask its specific format.

Unlock my DVD player to watch VCD's.

VCD's do not have "regions" specification. The DVD player either can play VCD's, or cannot play VCD's. It's a format that is not very popular among manufacturers. I have two players that both play my VCD's, but I had to make sure they accepted that format before I bought them. This player accepts DVD and CD's but it did not say VCD's. It's kind of a proprietary format that was only really popular overseas. The PHILIPS DVP5140 is one that I just found that does play pretty much everything.

What is the proper procedure to convert Avis to Vcd?

Use your favorite Burning software and burn the .avi, .mpg, .wmv, etc.... to VCD of SVCD if that's what you want. No need to convert to DVD and then SVCD as it would just waste your time.

Hi Sir,
The problem is with the codec that is require to play sound. You can resolve this by playing your DVD in another player like VLC media player or you will have to install the latest codec pack which supports major Audio and Video formats.

Following are the links to download both the VLC media player and K-Lite mega codec pack-
Download any one of them and install on your system.I am pretty sure this will resolve your problem.

When playing DVD no sound but VCD sound OK.

dvd are up to 6 times the density of a cd there making the laser eye read much closer rings on the disks. so in other words its having a hard time reading dvd. the only thing you can do is take a cotton swap dipped in alcohol and open the tray look with a flashlight for a small optical eye in exact center of dvd player and rub lightly on it to remove dust build up or spray some canned air into the dvd youll hit it. try it again and if no sound again the computer cant keep up with the dvd or vise versa.
