How to connect Motorola W375 to a Windows computer
Introduction¶
This document describes how to connect your Motorola W375 to your computer in order to use it as a modem, or to administer it with Motorola W375 Manager software.
Connecting¶
To connect your motorola W375, follow the next steps:
- Download and uncompress Motorola W375 Driver from this site.
- Connect your W375 to your computer with its lid closed.
(You can also connect the device with its lid open, and choose "not" when it asks for permission to connect as an storage device)
- When Windows asks you for a driver, select Motorola W375 driver folder.
This way, the next time you connect your mobile phone closed, your computer will recognize it as a new communications port and you are ready to use it with Motorola W375 Manager. If you open this "COM" port with a terminal emulation software (i.e Windows Hiperterminal) and type "AT", the mobile phone will respond you with an "OK" string.
Using it with Motorola W375 Manager¶
To use your mobile with Motorola W375 Manager, simply connect your mobile phone closed and then, start Motorola W375 Manager software.
Using it as a modem¶
To use your mobile phone as a modem, install "Standard 19200 Modem" driver and select the communications port associated to your motorola W375.
About Motorola W375 driver¶
Motorola W375 driver is basically the same driver known as Motorola USB Charging Driver. You can download Motorola USB Charging driver from motorola US support web site for Motorola W375. If you try to use Motorola USB Charging driver directly with your Motorola W375, device type will not be recognized, but if you change device ID from "USB\VID_2811&PID_0702" to "USB\VID_22b8&PID_4061", this usb charging driver will become completely compatible with wour Motorola W375 mobile phone. The driver you can download from this site, is exactly a Motorola USB Charging driver with the mentioned modification.
