SOURCE: no picture/sound on tv after connecting standard dvd player and inserting dvd

how many av inputs do you have on that tv? is it more than one? make sure you choose the right input. if that is not the problem then you are having a problem with av section in the tv I suggest that you take it to a repair man to get it fixed or you can use the RF cable to connect it to your tv. it is not the best but is saloution to the problem..good luck

SOURCE: TV, Sky, DVDR, VCR + Wii connection

i cant see any problem with the connections. have you tried to connect the dvdr along with sky to another tv set? and did the same problem occured? if not, try connecting it the same way with another tv. and see if thesame problem would occur. if the same problem appears check if the connections from sky to dvdr scart if it is loose or not. try to clean the solid wire of the cable. if proble still persists dvdr is faulty. if not, defenitely there is a problem with the tv. and i suggest for you to have it checked.

SOURCE: tuner will not pick up cable box on channel 3, front and rear AV

In order for the TV to work with the cable box by using a piece of coax and tuning the TV to channel 3, you must make sure the TV is in "Cable" mode on the tuner and not "AIR or Antenna" the frequency maps are different between these types of service and channel 3 cable will not be the same as channel 3 on Air or UHF/VHF.

Often there is an auto program feature on TV's that will "scan" for all available channels, and this should select the proper input type.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: cant tune tv in to use xbox 360

Check the scart lead by substitution, try another source of input, (game machine or dvd player,) it,s not uncommon to find bad solder joints on the print, where the scart socket is soldered to the mother board of the telly. there is no tuning as such for scart sockets, but you can get them in the wrong mode? S-video etc? but you should, in that case, get some sort of picture. Good luck! Nick

HDMI conneection wont override tv picture

I am a sky engineer (not a subby)
the reason this does not come on straight away is because a Scart lead send power upto your telly when it is turned on. Telling the telly that this is what you want.
Unfortunately HDMI does not send power upto the telly. There are ways around this. ON Samsung, Panasonic and Lg tellys you can go into a secret menu and apply something called HOTEL MODE this allows you to change the av input so it would automatically come on your hdmi 1,2,3, etc

In your case follow my instructions below

go to the hdmi you are using for your Hd

on the sky remote
Press SELECT and GREEN until LED flashes twice.
Press HELP then SELECT and the LED will flash Twice. what this mean is when you press your Sky button, tv guide, services or interactive button to turn the sky on this will automatically change your av/source on your telly to the sky HD for you

Philips E-Box FTR9965 DTV Receiver and PS3 connection problem

maybe your ps3 is set to hd output and not standard av so it's trying to send the signal through the hdmi port. if so, you need to hold the power button for a certain amount of time (it tells you in the manual) and it will switch to av output.

PS3 hdmi connection

With your PS3 on standby (red light) hold the on/off button down until it goes green and then back to red. This restores your PS3 to "factory settings", i.e. it is waiting for you to tell it how you want it to connect to your TV. Now disconnect any HDMI cables you may be trying to use and connect your PS3 to your TV via a scart connection. Now switch your PS3 on and turn to your AV channel and you should have both sound and pictures.

40gb hdmi

I had the same problem at first. I did the following:

1. Connect both cables: Multi-AV and HDMI.
2. Go to the TV's channel for SCART.
3. You now can see the PS3. Go to Display Settings, under
Settings menu. Select HDMI and the desired resolution.
4. Change to the HDMI channel.
5. You should now also see the PS3's XMB on the HDMI channel.
6. You can now disconnect the Multi-AV.

I hope this information can help you and your customer.

Vhs dvd combi panasonic dmr ez47

If you select the HDMI channel to watch a dvd does it do it then, if not disconnect both ends of the scart lead and reconnect or replace. If the scart lead is not in properly this could happen, when you switch on the player and play a disc your tv will automatically switch to the AV/Scart channel, but you are better off manually turning the TV over to the HDMI Hi-Def channel for DVD.

Watching digital tv using a Panasonic DMR-EZ47VEB

PLEASE NOTE THIS INFORMATION COVERS PROBLEMS FOR ALL DEVICES CONNECTED UP BY STUPID scart LEADS. I HOPE IT HELPS EVERYONE.

This is a common problem, the problem is caused by the fact your device is connected to the TV via a scart lead. The way it works is this: If you press the AV button on your TV remote your TV will turn over to the first scart channel. If you actively do something on the device connected via scart in this case the dvd player, (this includes things like playing a DVD or Video, or going into a menu), the device sends a signal down pin 8 of the scart lead and turns the TV over automatically to the AV channel, BUT as soon as you come out of the menu or stop the DVD/Video the signal stops and the TV will revert back to the channel it was on.
So you have 3 choices......maybe 4...
1. press the AV button on your TV remote directly.
2. Buy yourself and HDMI lead IF your TV supports it (note: you will have to select the HDMI channel on your TV remote because the auto thing is only on scart leads).
3. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU HAVE A SPARE LEAD look up a diagram of a scart lead on Google so you can find pin 8 and cut it out with a pair of wire cutters. YOU will have to still press the AV button on your TV remote to go to the channel though,
4. Connect your TV and DVD with an aerial lead and tune channel 6 on your TV into the DVD player. ps then disconnect the scart lead.
(Go for choice number one!)
