Anytime i try to use keypad, it buzzes then goes straight to voice recorder, which is now full. I have checked top and bottom connections and both are fully seated. When I turn it on holding down both # * keys, it goes to black screen for bootloading so I assume the keys are working somewhat. Any help greatly appreciated...ready to totally dismantle!!
Hey all...after i messed with phone for couple hours...and took apart, per the instructions i found online...still no workie, so i took sim card out and we had a spare old phone i used for couple weeks. when i tried the phone again...it worked. somehow it reset itself. i then made sure i transferred all numbers to sim card instead of storing on the phone. good luck to all with this problem....the phone store people told me same thing..new phone needed because of keypad...they just wanted a new sale i believe!! i also called cingular/at&t and asked them to resend whatever it is they send out that makes noise on the tv/computer if your phone is near it...i believe that is what screwed it up the first time, altho they wouldnt admit it. i am still using this phone with no futher problems as of yet!!
Doesn't help. Brought phone in for repair and was told "yeah, we've seen this alot" and the 'solution' was 'you need to buy a new phone'. Big help.... It is a fatal error in the phone mechanism, so be sure if you have this phone to back up what ya got somewhere.

Issues of accessing/setting up VM on your mobile or Inquiries on accessing your VM using your mobile phone?
I can help you w/that.there are 3 ways on accessing your VM via your mobile phone:
Long press the number 1 key on your phone's keypad then it'll dial your VM number and would ask for a PIN if PIN is setup.
Follow recording instructions or voice prompts and key presses until you get to hear your voice messages.
For some mobile phone service providers, dialing your own mobile number automatically transfers you to your VM.again,if PIN is set up?it'll ask you to enter it,if not it'll automatically proceed to your VM.
Follow recording instructions or voice prompts as well as correct key presses until you hear your voice messages.
Almost all mobile phone service providers has a so called "Voice mail Access Number"
This number can be dialled and goes straight to VM.
Voice prompts might ask you to enter your mobile number following the star key or pound sign on your mobilephone keypad.
Voice prompts might also ask you to enter your VM PIN(if seup).
Just follow Voice prompts and you're good to go.
The cause is a lack of proper earth grounding in the 8 track so your jack-lead is acting like a radio aerial.
The solution is simple - buy a Direct Injection (DI) box to place between the guitar and recorder.
Problem solved! Turns out that my son didn't realize that you have to call your voicemail box and delete voice messages by pressing "7" on the keypad. He thought that when you pressed "erase all" on the text message menu it erased voice mail, too. So the mailbox was full, as it only holds twenty messages. Sometimes the most obvious solution is the solution!
the voice mail key is the #1 key on the keypad as well it should have an envelope icon on the keypad as well, just press and hold the #1 key and follow the step by step instructions to setup you voice mail.
With any type of digital device such as this, there is a motherboard involved. When the buttons arent working, in your case, the solution is that the motherboard is shot. You could try to open the device and attempt to fix it or find repair service.
