Hi, My Minolta DiMage F200 camera won't take photos, but it used to a year ago. When I take a photo it makes all the right noises and all the lights flash as they should, but when I try to view the photos that I think I've taken (on the camera's screen)I just get a message on the screen saying "no images". Also when I try to view the contents of the SD card on my computer, the folder just contains old photos taken a year ago, but none of the photos I've just taken. The SD card is set to not locked (or not protected) and to view the contents of the card I'm using an SD card caddie. I'm able to view the contents of the SD card so the caddie obviously works. Any ideas? Thanks, Brian.

What you are seeing is the difference between "pixel count resolution" and "embedded resolution". So in your example 2272*1704 is the actual pixel count resolution as recorded by the camera & 72 is the embedded resolution that tells the software (in this case photoshop) what the intended use of the picture will be. 72 ppi is the default for web pictures. You can change this in photoshop by going to the "Image" tab & select image size. The window that opens will show you the pixel dimensions i.e. pixel count resolution and the document size & resolution 72. You just change it to 300 for printing. You can change the default to 300 by going "edit", "preferences", "units & rulers" and setting the values for "new document preset resolutions". This is a complex subject, I recommend looking at the following web page: http://www.fotofinish.com/resources/centers/photo/resolution.htm

Hi, I have the same black area in the corner of my shot, and 'fluttering' on turning the camera on. Have called Jessops and a local independent camera shop. Both have told me that Minolta have been bought by Sony, and as such, there is no support for the Minolta cameras, which is very poor. Also, the price of cameras has come down so much over the last few years, that it is cheaper to buy a replacement than to attempt to have it repaired. A Fuji Finepix S5700 was suggested by my independant shop...does a similar job to the Dimage and costs £99. I was quoted £125 to have the Dimage looked at by Jessops! It's a no-brainer for me, although very annoying as I love my Dimage.
Hope this helps a little.

I don't have any first-hand information, but you'll probably be ok as long as you stay under capacities of 2GB. The original SD specification only allowed cards up to 2GB to be compliant with the standard, so I think that pretty much every camera that has an SD slot can handle 2GB capacities.

What size memory card are you using? I have had this problem trying to use a a 4gb card, which apparently is not compatible with the Z5. Using a 2gb card seems to alleviate the problem.

This is a 6-year old camera. It was not designed to use SDHC cards. Your maximum is a 2gb SD card.
