My archos 605 4gb keeps locking up ....i have to keep pressing the reset button to use it again...why??

Memory inside is fouling and it is going to need to be serviced or if there is a firmware update I'd try that before all else.

Forgot pattern to get in it

You will need to perform a factory reset.

- Turn off the device and wait 10 seconds.
- Press and hold the volume + button while powering on the device.
- Keep the volume + pressed until the Recovery mode starts (white screen).
- To move from one option to another, use the volume buttons. To select an option, press the ON/OFF button.

There should be an option to factory reset or erase your tablet.

Archos 5 constantly rebooting after reset. I keep seeing the welcome screen, "Archos, entertainment your way". I have booted it in the safe mode by holding down the volume + button after powering it on....

How to get out of the archos 605 demo mode wheh it keeps shutting off?

Demo software should not be on the device is sold to a customer. Because it is for stores to display them. If you have demo software working on your archos 5 press the power button and hold it for 10 seconds until it shuts off this will reset your device. And it should come up with normal user mode

My archos 5 wont switch on to the home page

You should perform this when it is on
problem solve #1
* Press the reset button on the buttom of the device using a papr clip. It should shut it off. then try to turn it on again.

try the next if the problem still exist.

Problem solve 2

* Download the latest frimware from Archos.com on to the desktop on your computer ( i recommend desktop because it will be easy to find) Then plug the device to a pc Using USB cable. turn the archos on by holding power switch and TV/LCD buttons at the same time until a white screen comes up. it should ask for Usb. if it does pick the ubs. if it does not give you a USB option but these "NO", "REPAIRE", "FORMAT" move the curser to repaire. do not pick the format which will delete all the contents and plugins you have on your device.

after repaire completes it should say done. do not press the done wait until you see the archos connection under My computer. it should normaly come up with name 504 or you will be able to see the archos icon. place the firmware in to the main drirector not under any folder. then press the ok button to confirm the "done" device will power off and start with a white screen again but this time it will update the firmware and restart do not unplug the Usb cable until the update completes. It should restart again and load the normal user interface. Your device should be fine and back to normal.

Can not register Archos for WIFI connection

Switched unit on and held tv button until repair options showed. Selected repair disc then switched off when task completed. Switched back on and selected systems and again selected reset settings and switched off. Then this time I removed the battery and pressed the reset button. Switched back on re-entering all the required data.Everything now appears to be functioning normally.

Archos 605 wifi frozen/bricked

there's a possible error on the disk or the archos storage, - a certain corrupt file could possibly the one making the unit into freeze..

I had a similar problem remove the battery and push the gold coloured reset button. It worked on mine, You don't lose any info doing this. I got the advice from the Archos support phone number CC
