The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the correct procedure for performing this test. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same.You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

This has happened to me on several occasions. It has always been the igniter. I have had service men replace a couple. I finally replaced one myself. It is a Maytag ignitor Part number 70001036. It takes three screws; one to loosen the burner, and two to replace the igniter. Easier than $125 for a repairman and $100 for the igniter.

It is pretty simple either you can purchase conversion kit thru Dynasty (new name Jade) PH # 800-884-5233 or ask them for the proper size of the burner orifices and drill them out, flipper the cap on the gas regulator to Nature gas setting, afterward test the stove and adjust the air/gas mixture. Have fun.

30 inch oven has only one oven tube, 36 inch oven has 2 burners in it, most comment is the oven ignitor is out. If you have 2 burners, I'll change both oven ignitor at the same time, because they worked together. also check the oven tube, if it is corroded at the ignitor area, change the burners. Have fun.
