The shoot button has popped off. It won't stay on the camera. If I stick a needle down the hole it will take a picture, so the camera works fine. It's just the button

Please don't stick anything in there to take a picture, especially a needle!! Your shutter button needs to be replaced, its a very common defect on this camera.

There is only one place that will install a new solid aluminum shutter button post and guarantee it will never break again! How do I know? Because I've been repairing them since 2006 and I own the shop with the aluminum posts!

I need to selectively delete some pictures from my memory stick

The button with the icon of a garbage can is the delete button. Bring up a picture you want to delete and press that button...follow the on-screen instructions.

Delay when taking picture

2 things to be checked to rectify this delay.
what size of memory stick you are using. 1GB is fine, 2GB slower the camera and 4GB is more then enough.
Check memory stick, is it full with files? try to make more free space in memory stick.
perform "intialization" by selecting in camera menu.
Good luck.

Memory full message in error

Remove some pictures from the memory stick Or copy them to your computer. Actually your memory stick is full. If you have no memory stick in the cam then purchase a new one for it. The cam memory is not enough to store many pictures.

Please help: readout says "no memory space" but memory stick is empty!

When you copy pictures to your computer you still have the pictures on your camera so there is need to clean them up my reformatting memory stick.   This procedure will leave the memory stick clean and ready for a new set of pictures.  Here is how you reformat the memory stick-:

1.  Insert the memory stick to be cleaned/formatted in the camera

2.  Turn the MODE DIAL to the SETUP position on the camera

3.  Switch on the camera

4.  Select the MEMORY STICK TOOL from the CONTROL BUTTON

5.  Press the centre of the CONTROL BUTTON

6.  Select FORMAT by using the down arrow and up arrow

7. Choose OK by moving the right arrow button

8.  Finally press the centre of the CONTROL BUTTON and this will start reformatting the MEMORY STICK and it will ready for reuse.

Enjoy your new space in your Memory Stick!
