Question about Olympus D-545 Zoom Digital Camera

Erasing the memory card;

Can all the pictures be erased at once as opposed to individually erasing each picture. My CD Advanced Manual won't download because I have a more advanced Adobe Reader and your program can't get past that problem.

All pictures in the internal memory and/or on the memory card can be erased at once. This is accomplished through either formatting or the "all-frame erase" function. I copied the following instructions from the advanced manual, which can be downloaded here: http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/d545zadvman.pdf. Adobe reader should open that file with no problem. If it doesn't, that's another issue altogether.

1. Enter playback mode by pressing the play button.
2. Press the OK MENU button.
3. Press the right arrow button (next to the lightning bolt) to access [MODE MENU]
4. Then, press the down arrow to access the [MEMORY(CARD)] tab.
5. Select the [ALL ERASE] function.
6. Select Yes and press OK MENU.

(You'll need to use the arrow buttons to navigate the menus. Please see pg 16 of the manual for instructions on how to do so.)

Note: when the memory card is in the camera, it will erase the pictures off the card. When the card is removed, the function above will erase the internal memory.

No, format will erase all data. Try doing chkdsk <drive letter> /f in the command prompt.

I've forgotten how to erase the whole memory card. I can do individual pics but that would take forever.

Format the card to erase it completely. Formatting should be done each time you finish download all your pictures from it, instead of deleting individual pictures.

To delete individual images, press the trashcan button (below the cursor pad) while viewing the picture. To delete all images, follow the instructions in the "Erasing All images" section of the manual (page 153 in my copy). Better yet, format the memory card following the instructions in the "Formatting Memory Cards" section (page 59).

Can I erase more than one picture at a time? It only lets me do one and doesn't ask "erase all?" like some cameras do.

if you want to erase all ..just get to the menu ...storage ..and memory card ..and choose format ..this will erase all into the camera and format the card again which is a good thing in case you had errors..
anyway ..in the view mode..it has to have something called multiple deleting or erasing ...and in there you can sort the pictures by name and delete them all at once ..

Easiest way...go into the menu and find "format"...follow the on-screen instructions.

I discovered that my particular problem was caused by bent pins in the card reader. I straightened them and re-aligned them and reader is back to normal.

Erasing multiple pictures off card manually

you can erase ALL data on the card (all pictures) and not a chosen few as this camera is not having that option.
to erase all pictures simply FORMAT the card in the "FUNCTION" MENU .

one solution that I can suggest is to make a CD photo,take the memory card to a store where they have the photo computer and make a CD ( walgreens , sams , K mart ) hope its helpful

Memory card

Sounds like to me that the card may be corrupt or the data on it is. I would suggest taking the card to walmart or another store with a picture kiosk machine and try to copy the pictures to a CD then once that is done format the card in your camera.
