You can go the hardware (device) management and unload the drivers or uninstall the device. You may also have a switch on the sides of your laptop.

Reinstall the WiFi driver:

Turning on the wi-fi, toshiba satellite l505-s5966

Turning on of wifi in laptops are usually done using the keyboard's function key and a Wifi button located from F1 - F11. Also a LED light indicator is placed somewhere in your Notebook, Which will tell you if your wifi is turned On/Off. So here is what you must do.

  • First try to locate your wifi button which is located from F1 - F11, it has a small logo like an Antenna with a signal wave on both sides.
  • Now when you found the botton, for example in "F5" , Hold and press the Function Key which is the "FN" then press the wifi button which is the "F5" in short presentation is this " FN+F5"
  • Remember to press it only once because pressing it twice will result in an off wifi. So be sure to press it only once.
  • After pressing it, a LED light should turn on, it is located somewhere in your notebook. When this light is on this means that your wifi is already turned on.
  • and Thats it.
Hope that my solution will help.Thank you for using Fixya!

M using windows 7 - 32 bit OS... i got my laptop repaired and wifi wires too but now wifi is not working properly... wifi is able to detect all signals except the wireless internet network signals.... i...

Hi,

some more information would be helpful ;-)
I.e. one important information is, which laptop it is.

For the wireless adapter seems not to be usable, the os might not corresponding correctly with it. Please post your laptop model type. Another driver for it's wireless adapter might fix this problem.

Cannot turn on wifi on T400. Intel 5100 card

Is the "broadcast-tower" light on (the leftmost icon on the lite-bar below the screen)? Have you got an available/working WiFi router? Have you been able to choose a network to connect to? My T400 works fine when all the above are enabled..
