Tip & How-To about Wine & Spirits
Hot chocolate is one of thoses childhood drinks that are amazing. It doesn't matter how old or young you are - everybody loves a good hot chocolate.
I've followed hundreds of different recipes but my all time favorite is this one. It's actually a Parisian hot chocolate recipe so not only does it taste great but it sounds very fancy.
Ingredients:
2 cups full fat milk
5 oz (130g) of good quality bittersweet chocolate ie high percentage of cocoa - chopped small
2 tablespoons of brown sugar (to taste).
Method:
1. Heat the milk in a medium pan
2. When the milk is warm whisk in the chocolate and stir until melted and very hot.
3. Cook on a low boil light for about 3 minutes but whisk constantly. Make sure it doesn't boil over.
4.Taste it and add sugar if desired.
Serve in small coffee cups for a really sophisticated look.
Dagoba make

Yes. Women
are generally recommended to cut down on their caffeine intake during
pregnancy but the amount of caffeine in
a cup of hot chocolate is much less than you find in coffee or even tea.
So keep drinking your hot chocolate. Obviously an excess of anything isn't good for you, so just aim for a balanced healthy diet.
Although the
two names of drinks are used interchangeably, hot chocolate is a drink that's
either made from real chocolate melted into milk or with packet hot chocolate
powder. Cocoa powder is unsweetened and needs to be combined with sugar to
create a sweeter drink.
In general
hot chocolate is richer and sweeter than hot cocoa.
