Lost System Manager ID and Password for Canon ImageRunner 5070

I have lost the System Manager ID and System Password for a Canon ImageRunner 5070. Is there any way to reset this information? Is there a phone number to reach Canon Tech Support (for office, not consumer products). Out copy tech from iKon is very personable, but completely clueless about non-mechanical issues.

Sorry about the ikon issue, if youre in indiana look up Canyon Falls Office Equipment, they can help you out. You or your tech need to go into service mode and do a reset of the password. Your tech cant call canon anymore because they are no longer a canon dealer. they will be trying to sell you a ricoh very soon. hope this helps.

I inherited a Canon imagerunner 2018. The unit is asking me to enter a System Manager id and Password. Please advise where I may be able to find that.

Hi,
under service mode: * 2 8 *
with cursor key right, go to clear and press ok, select ALL, and press OK, these will "roll back" copiers settings to factory default, and also cancel the ID management password.

I would like to Reset/Retrieve Password for Copier Setup Canon, ImageRunner canon ir 2318

If you know the password, then under user mode, i think system sett., must be option for department id management where you can change passwords.

If you dont have pass, you can do clear all under service mode ( * 2 8 * ) if canon changed service mode, like on some series, you can try MENU and #.

If you do not know system password, enter service mode level 1, hit copier , function, clear, pwd-clr, and ok. If you donot know how to get into service mode, send me an e-mail [email protected]

Can't print or scan through USB port on Canon imageRUNNER 5070.

The port should be active. You can look for problems by right-clicking My Computer and then Properties. Under the Hardware tab, press the Device Manager button. Any hardware issues will show either a question mark or exclamation mark, disabled items with a red x. After the printer is connected, turn it on, then go to Start -> Control Panel. Here, go to add hardware. See if this finds it.

If not, have you added the printer after connecting it via USB under Start -> Printers and Faxes? What about inserting the installation CD before connecting the printer?

Dept number and Password

You can turn off department id codes from the additional functions menu but you will need to know the system manager id code to perform this. If you cannot obtain the system mgr ID code from the people you purchased it from it will require a reset done in service mode.

I might be able to help if you cannot obtain the System Manager ID code to get into the admin settings.

One of the easiest ways to explore this is with the RemoteUI, the web management interface accessable by entering your imageRUNNER's IP address into your web browser's address bar.

I don't have one handy so I cannot be certain, but you will want to look for the Address book. It should be clearly listed on the left hand navigation.

If you are prompted for a password enter your system manager password (used with Job Accounting, usually)
Unless you have a system manager password set, you can login via admin mode with a blank password.
