Zen nano mp3 player always starts at same song 1gig

It didn't used to do this. I loaded new songs in last night, and no matter if i listen to 10,20,30 songs, when I turn it on, it starts me at the same song. So either I have to manually move further up my list or suffer thru the same tunes over and over. I don't get it . What's happening and how do I cure it

You can put it on shuffle mode, and then it will play a new song everytime. Also, check if somehow you got some songs into a playlist or folder. If that is the case it may start from the same song everytime.

The guide for Zen nano plus:
http://files2.europe.creative.com/manualdn/Manuals/TSD/8899/0xBA9C626B/Zen%20Nano%20Plus%20Quick%20Start%20Multilingual.pdf
It seems that pauzes between the tracks do not seperate them into
split up songs onto the player.

Support for Zen nano plus on this site:
http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=213&subCatID=214&prodID=12720&prodName=ZEN%20Nano%20Plus&subCatName=ZEN&CatName=MP3+Players
You can rip audio CD using:
1. "application software" (getting a download from the support site) or
2. Windows Media Player 10 or 11 (WMP11 preferred).****
2.1 ****When making connection with the correct database,
songs will get the corresponding MP3 tags / names.

Will not accept more songs or convert from wma to mp3

Have you tried backing up all the songs and re-formatting the player? This sounds like it could be a filesystem problem...

Or you could check for a firmware upgrade. That's what fixed mine when it wouldn't play mp3s; a new firmware might have a bugfix for your problem. Firmware is available at:

Creative Zen Nano plus -512 MB

well it shouldnt play the first song in the folder. it should automatically play the song where you left off. and when you are changing the EQ, make sure that you are pressing in the selector key. (the key at the bottom to the right of the volume control keys) as it may take a while to adjust to your volume settings

Mp3 player Creative Nano 1GB

try downloading the MP3 player recovery tool from Creative's website (the tool contains the latest firmware update available -- 1.15.03). Plug your ZV+ into your PC, run the program and let it update the firmware. Then format, reload your music and try it.
