try pulling the outer ring out a little while twisting it (you won't break it). then try the inner ring. if it wiggles, you need to take it apart- and that's not a pretty job.

if the fans aren't running, it's the power supply. if the amber is on and the button's won't turn it on, there is an obstruction under the button panel. if all turns on but the lamp and you don't hear a high=pitched whir, it's the colorwheel. if you do, it's the ballast.

Have you tried another lamp? Sometimes thats your problem, but I've seen a several occasions that the a defective power supply causes this symptom. Do you see an image flicker before the projector shutsdown? I do have some spare parts for this projector.
I'm on Ebay - gtitubro if you want to contact me through there.

clean the dust out of it with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. it also shortens the life of the lamp.

I solved my issue with just simply upgrading the Frimware. Which can be downloaded from infocus website.
