what I did to fix an old stereo or receiver is to open it up carefully and removing then wiping the connectors inside on the main circuit boards all of the connectors slowly and one by one so that you don't forget where they go most are very thin delicate wires so don't snap them!! be careful
i have had this problem before, and you can take off the strip above the keyboard and check the wire didnt come unsoldered or unplugged, but in most cases, it has to be replaced. if you can turn it on, i would reccomend just starting it that way.
You should be able to press and hold either the audio button or function button with the car power on but the stereo power off and the clock setting should appear. From where the clock flashes you should be able to use the four directional buttons to set the hours and minutes.
