Magnavox 19" TV shuts itself off.....won't stay on

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

Phillips Magnavox Model 20MT1331/17: It shuts off

The poster, Jim K, is probably in possession of at least a layout of the power supply and the 'location' is likely derived from a grid used to physically find parts on a board.
220 uF is a common value for an electrolytic capacitor and the 200V is the rated sustained DC voltage it can tolerate.
The 130 volts could be caused by a capacitor that is failing and not smoothing the rectified voltage as it should.
In other words, you kind of need a tech.

Philips Magnavox 17MD255/17 LCD TV had AC voltage applied.

It seems your "power regulator" a small unit inside tv device has damaged due to wrong power supply. In this case usually the power capacitor burns and few other electronic components like triodes. Get the help of a electronic chip technician to replace the damaged components.

Hope it works.

My 60" Philips Magnavox, model 9P6034C103, chassis PTV835

It could be the flyback losing resistace in its windings. What is the chassis number I should have the service manual for it. Phillips/magnavox is hard to cross reference without the actual chassis number.

Phillips/Magnavox 9P5544C102 white raster and shuts down

This denotes a problem called blooming the horizontal lines you see are called retrace lines this is caused by the increase in anode voltage which could be caused by an increase in HV section current which trips the overcurrent protection dircuit and turns the TV off.If you do not have electronics experience I would suggest taking the set to a TV repair shop.
