If you save in a temple and quit, it will always take you back to the beginning of the temple. Even so, you keep your progress through the temple like rooms visited, chests opened, and keys found.

For an NES game, you must have two things. First you must have an emulator. The Emulator is the program that runs the games. A good emulator would be VirtuaNES. Next you need a ROM. A rom is the file that holds all the data for the game you want to play. Once you boot up the emulator, you go to FILE and select LOAD ROM. You then load the rom you want to play.
