Steering lock malfunction

Hello I have a Honda Civic 2003 7th gen manuell. The engine cranks but doesn't start, spark plugs, gas, fuses and battery are ok I noticed that the steering wheel only locks to the left and I was wondering if this could be affecting the engine and stoping it from starting. Excuse my poor english. Thanks

Check cranking compression also is ther gas on the spark plugs after cranking the motor say 20 seconds no gas then suck some gas into a 2 foot peice of vacuum line blow this gas into the manifold throttle(a spoonful) then crank if it starts then maybe bad fuel pump check to see if fuel is at fuel rail when the motor is cranking got gas? got spark ?are plugs blak and sooty ?(repleace) then check compression if its low by 20 to 30 pounds or has nun its jumped time at the timing belt/chain ask about that at auto zone and the ramifications

If the car has over 100,000 miles on it, you may need to replace the distributer. I don't think the bad gas caused this issue I think it may just be a coincdence. But if you already changed the plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor, I would definetly check the distributor.

SOURCE: Doesn't start - FI warning light & no spark

I have encountered this problem on 3 different occasions. I have had to pull the fuel pump, carefully disassemble the entire thing, using an air hose to clean it out, only to reassemble and reinstall it...tho frustrating and very time consuming, the settlement thats in gas can clog the fuel filter inside the pump causing a major inconvenience. Also when you dismantle your bike take an extra hour and some carburator cleaner and clean out your throttle bodies and fuel lines...90% of FI problems are fuel pump related

SOURCE: 1974 honda cb550 will not run?

• The first thing to do with ANY engine that has sat for any longer than a couple of months is to dump ALL the fuel in the tank and carb(s). ALL OF IT !! You'll want to refill with some high priced fuel that has fuel system cleaners (Like Chevron with Techron) not becasue you need high-test fuel, but because you need the cleaners. It's ether that or disassemble the carbs and clean out jets you can't find much less see. Your choice. The carb kits alone will cost you about $50 so a tank of high-test is looking pretty good, huh?

• Now the fact that you tried to crank the engine with old fuel has fouled the sparkplugs. All of them. Go buy all new sparkplugs.

97 honda civic wont start,got fuel,spark,compresion,new timing belt,its in time,new spark plugs,new distributor cap,new crankshaft position scensor

I would suggest to get a propane torch and turn on with out lighting it (flame less) Place in intake port to manifold crank and see if starts. this will let you know if injectors are cycling or not. This engine has Three sensors that keep the engine running crank,TDC,cam. The TDC and CAM are in the distributor and crank is behind timing belt cover.

no start, cranks ok/
so check for spark, got spark too all 4 cylinders.
you know how to do that, its easy.
the cars ECU brain cuts fuel anytime there is no spark
and honda's have complex ignitions. some have 3 sensors. for spark.

I have a 2003 civic Honda .engine cranking but wont start.Fuel and Ignition were check already no problem was found. Is it maybe because I have change the original alarm of my car to a new alarm? Do I need...

I would check your firing order, and all the stuff with the distributor, no loose connections and stuff, check the condition of all your plugs, make sure they are gapped correctly, check everything, maybe your injectors are clogged or broken? (unlikely but still check it out) then at last check for compression. All you need is fuel, spark and compression to fire. Check all cylinders to make sure they are ok on everything.

Get your tools (for removing a spark plug) ready. Try to start the engine, pumping the accelerator a little while you crank. Take a spark plug out. Is the spark plug wet with gas (smell fuel)? If so, you are getting fuel. Hook the spark plug you just took out up to the coil, lay it on the engine where it will be grounded to the metal. Get someone to crank the engine, and check for spark at the end of the plug. If there is a good spark, that eliminates another problem (don't crank the engine, or let it run too long with the plug out). If you have spark, and fuel, either the timing is way off (broken, slipped timing belt/chain), or you have no compression (internal engine).

Do you have a "Check Engine" light, or any other warning light on? Recently you make any work there or disconnected the battery? Are you thniking in Theft, Immobilizer or Passlock security alarm? Is this occurrs and the keys isn't work, its need to re-programmed, for this need to visit your Honda dealer.

My 1998 honda civic ex. It cranks but Engine does not start . I could not locate the fuel injectors fuse. I openned fuel line and fuel spurt out when it cranking. But I smell no gas at airfilter intake.

How many miles are on it? Have you changed timing belt? Was there any symptoms prior to non starting? Pull a spark plug see if you are getting spark. If not it is probably coilpack on distributor have it tested. Common problem I have had experienced with civics.

1991 Honda Civic Problems car started ok. at stop sign died will not start getting gas turns over fine.seems like no spark

whaddya mean seems like no spark. There's no such thing as "seems like no spark. There either is or isn't and it's easy to tell. remove spark plug lay against good ground and crank. you'll see it for crissse sake.

Not getting gas is a fuel delivery problem, fuse, pump, or relay.

On sunday pray for it. all the other days cuss it out.

89 honda civic swap car wont start

Backfires usually mean it's still out of time, either engine wise, spark wise, or injector wise. I'd pull the cap and inspect the ignition coil if it's that style. Hondas are the easiest cars to get spark plug wires mixed up, even the pros do it every so often. I'd also make sure all your injector connectors aren't swapped around, & definitely check all of your engine grounds. you could also have a bad timing belt tensioner or just be a few teeth off. I always triple check the simple stuff over and over again cuz thats what it usually ends up being... hope this info helps...(subytech1)...

Starting problem with honda civic

Next things to check are fuel and spark, remove a spark plug and with the wire attached crank the motor, if you see spark in the plug then it's not a spark issue and probably a fuel problem. If there is no spark could be bad plugs or wires, or distrubitor cap. To check fuel remove injector cover and crank motor, if there is no fuel coming out then check fuel filter, fuel pump.

Good Luck
