Question about Kodak EasyShare C340 Digital Camera

1 Answer

GREEN LIGHT TURNS TO RED & CAMERA WON'T WORK

My Kodak EasyShare C340 Digital Camera is relatively new. At times it works perfectly. But it seems that when it's most important,it does'nt work. I have missed great once in a lifetime wedding, graduation etc. shots. I'll turn the camera on, and without warning, the green light flashes and then turns to red.The screen doesn't light up and I can't take a picture. Even with fresh batteries I have this problem. Sometimes it will work if I turn the camera off and then turn it on again, but not always. Sometimes it will work if I take the batteries out and put them back in, but not always. What could be causing this?

I try to turn the camera on to either take a photo or review photos and the screen will light up green for a second and then go black as well as the small oval next to the view finder is green for a second and then blinks red. I can't get it to turn on and the batteries are brand new! HELP! Am I going to need a new camera?

I have the same problem too.. I only had the camera in use for only a year.. when this problem happened, I thought I needed to recharge because I have a base too.. but charging it overnight didn't do anything either, I don't know, either there wasn't a connection or what... So I went to buy batteries, NEW batteries used for digital cameras, but that didn't work either.. I'm at a loss also.. Can anyone help please? I've missed soo many good opportunities like parties, wedding, etc... I don't want to spend more money on a new camera, because I still have a workable base for this camera..

I too have the same problem with a one year old camera. I have replaced many different types of batteries.

I turn the mode button to auto the green light flashes then turns red and the camera turns off. I tried turning it off and on and changing the batteries. Nothing seems to work.

I experience exactly the same problem: I insert fleshly charged batteries, the green light turns on and immediately it turns red and I cannot take any photograph. This happened during a vacation. This product is very unreliable. II am fed up after only 3 years and plan to replace it by a different brand and model

I have just put a new battery in my Kodak c340 only to find the problem of the green light turning red then switching off is still happening HELP

  • Anonymous Jun 20, 2008

Why when I put in need batteries, just bought them, and the camera will light green and then turn red again. I have tried a whole new pack of batteries, the kind that is rechargeable. But it still happens.

What am I doing wrong? I like the camera, but it sure is a pain.

I do not take that many pictures and every time I want to the batteries are dead. What do I do the keep the battery good?

mine does the same thing green light fliashes then turns red and the screen wont come on even with new batteries

  • Anonymous Feb 08, 2009

Most of the time the green light blinks on a few times, then turns to red and shuts off. It doesn't matter if the batteries are new or old. Occasionally it will work. What can I do?

Same problem. Did work fine for awhile before it started doing this. Since it started doing this I have trouble loading pics to the computer, as well.

The same solution of turning it off and then on again also works for me.

Kodak easyshare digital camera MD41, lens extends and closes when start button is pressed with fully charged battery light blinks red and turns off camera

hi open the battary comparment, remove the battery and check to see if there is a small button like thing (looks something like a small horn) there if yes then, press and hold it for roughly 20 secs and release reinsert battery and try powering on this would reset the camera to original factory settings at a hardware level

(i got my other Kodak c340 to work this way)

hope this helps

I have a kodak easyshare c533 camera and it won't turn on. I tried new batteries but all it does is flash the green light. Any ways to fix this?

Green light flashed, turned red, lens would not open. Put in new rechargeable batteries, still nothing. Someone here suggested to try regular AA cheapie batteries. IT WORKED!

Camera shuts off like dead a dead battery with new ones

Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.

Kodak easyshare c340 wont turn on

My EasyShare was doing the same thing your post describes, which is how I came to be at this website. I tried the one suggestion of turning on camera (I did so to the 'Auto' setting), then pressing the |O|/i button, which is the button below the 'delete' and above 'menu' next to the screen. That didn't work for me. I then tried the suggestion with the other modes on the power dial, no luck.

I then, from the off position, turned the dial the other way, to the 'favorites' icon, and it worked! I didn't have a memory card in at the time, so it made a noise almost like saying "uh-oh", with the message 'no images in favorites'. I then turned it off, then turned it to 'auto' again, good to go! The lens opened, green light remained on in all modes.

If this helps even one person, I'm glad.
