I have an LG bottom mount freezer - model LRFC21760ST. Recently the temperature control panel has been acting strange. the temperature setting for the fridge portion is adjusting itself. It beeps with every change and lately it will start up by itself and cycle through the temperature settings for the fridge. The kitchen is right next to our family room and all of sudden we will hear beeping and the temperature for the fridge will be cycling through the temp from 0 C to 8 C. It stops on different settings every time. Sometimes it settles on the 0C and sometimes on 8C. We have not noticed a pattern yet or anything that triggers this behaviour. Would appreciate any suggestions on this. Thanks

SOURCE: ice at the bottom of the freezer

It sounds like the freezer has leaking door seals and air is getting in to the freezer compartment. Your temperatures are set about right. Regards

SOURCE: Noisy LG Fridge Freezer

most likely the evaporator fan is hitting some ice that has formed on the mounting shroud. You will have to defrost the unit by leaving it off over night. Also what contributes to this broblem is the location of the temp sensors. they should be checked that they are in the holders for them and not buried into the foam insulation. There is on in the ref on the top of the liner and one in the freezer. These pop off. remove them from the foam and insert them into the holders. If you can't do this then it may be wise to use a service person to do check it.

hopefully you looked out back ...rear lower panel and checked little white condenser fan running...it really needs too to keep temp stable across the condenser coils and no overheat condition to the compressor.hopefully you wont need the $300 circuit board like I just bought

How do i set the temperature on my carrier freezer model csr 500 fdd lg using the three buttons in the control panel what code do i use

You need to carefully read the owner's manual. It will tell you exactly how to do it. Go slow. If you have misplaced the manual, it is available at no cost from LG on-line as a pdf file. If you model isn't listed, use the "Contact" link on the top line menu or very bottom to request the manual you need... include your model number and your e-mail address. They will send you one within three business days.

How do I set my settings for the frig and freezer?

Hi friend, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand that you are having difficulty with the temperature settings on your Frigidaire refrigerator. Depending on your refrigerator style on a top mount there should be a cold control on the inside of the fresh food side that would be used to adjust your temperature. On a side by side or French door bottom mount the temperature control is located on the front control panel. Typically, as a "+" or "-" symbol to adjust the temperature. If any adjustments are made to the temperature, please allow 24 hours for the temperature to set properly. I hope this information has been helpful. -Matt

The thermal fuse, sometimes called a "thermister" is a device that is usually located behind the rear panel in the freezer. It looks like a wire with a small thing on the end that is secured to the coils behind the rear panel. You will need to remove all the contents of the freezer and remove the rear panel in the freezer...You most likely are going to need to replace it, so getting a new one before you start taking everything apart will be a good idea..You'll need the model # of the fridge etc. Find an appliance parts dealer to acquire the new part which should be fairly inexpensive.. Search "refrigerator thermal fuse" on YouTube and you should find a few video's on what to do and what to look for..Good luck!

Gee I don't know what brand you have so I gotta shoot from the hip. As you know the freezer is where the cold air for the fresh food compartment originates. What you have is some sort of control problem. I suspect it is a sensor. These sensors change in resistance as the temperature changes. A lot of folk waste money buying new controls when all they needed to do was replace the sensors. I have a few manuals in my stash that are for bottom mounts and a french door manual. You may want to look through these to get an idea where these sensors are located.
