Question about Olympus Camedia C-450 Zoom Digital Camera

Memory card problems

I have recently bought a 1GB XD memory card for my Olympus Camedia C-450 Zoom camera which the camera refused to accept. After prompting for a format on switching on. it is unable to complete the process and signals that there is a card error. I thought that it was due to a faulty memory card but on exchanging it for a new one the same problem occurred. Please can you advise why this is happening? Is a 1GB card to great for the camera to cope with? If so what is the maximum storage one can use with this camera? Thank you for your help Alex

    Hi,

reg : Olympus Camedia Digital Zoom C-450

I bought a 2 gb xd picture card but it doesn't seem compatible and give the " card error " message when i try to format on switching it on.

I tried to format it thru' a different card reader but in vain.

Is there something i can do or the camera doesn't support a 2gb card.

the previous and a similar question though had an answer it was difficult to understand.

    Pls Help.

    thank you.

I have recently bought a 2GB XD memory card for my Olympus Camedia C-450 Zoom camera which seems to be a problem. It asks if you want to format but nothing happens and states that there is a card error. Please can you advise why this is happening? Is a 1GB or 1GB card too great for the camera to cope with? I know it isn't the memory card as I have tested it on the computer.
    Many thanks

    Julie

Got new olympus memory card, keeps saying card error

Is the memory card the correct capacity? Is it too "big"? ie is it say a 8 gig and maybe your camera only supports 4 gig? I had that problem with my camera-I had bought a memory card which was too high in capacity for it. Check your user manual for the cards and capacity you can use.

Will the Olympus Camedia C-350 zoom take a 2 GB xD card?

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is an M or H 512mb card. The 1gb or 2gb cards are not compatible. The firmware in the camera cannot support memory storage with that capacity. The camera came out before those cards did and there no plans to upgrade the camera to allow those types of cards to be supported.

Memory card

Hi!

20cc284.jpg

Maximum memory size for your camera is 256MB (according to the manual). However, some users claim that the camera can support up to 512MB. To be safe, just use a 256MB card.

Good luck and have a nice day!

When I install a new Olympus XD 1 gig memory card in my Olympus Camedia C-50 camera it says card error with an exclamation point.

The problem is that the largest xD card that your camera can support is a 256mb card without the letters M or H in front of 256mb. The 1gb card is not compatible.

There is a link on the Olympus website page that allows you to send the camera in to one of the service centers to have the firmware in the camera upgraded to accept that larger memory card.
