A lot of portable units come out of overseas factories that build a certain amount for production and sales. They rarely supply any parts for after sales service however, as a lot of these machines are co-branded with other manufacturers, you may be able to acquire fans from another manufacturer. The only problem is determining what model number they use. You could try having a look in a retail store and picking one that is exactly the same a s yours but may be a different brand. You need to be definite though. Often the knobs, stickers, filter covers etc are different but when you have a very close look at the main parts such as the body mouldings, air inlet and outlet positions etc. You will soon pick which ones are the same machine, just different Brand..

Blower motor makes aping noise then starts for about 5 seconds then does it all ovver again in heat or cool or fan only

If it is a squirrel cage blower motor, it is likely to be wearing a bearing, or a loose connection.

If it is a regular motor, it could be a loose fan blade.

This blower motor lost some blades some how threw it all out of wack (wobbly) so much it hitting casing. Motor works. Would I need to replace everything or just the blade wheel ? It is an older amana air...

you may have to replace the blower because the squirrel cage is out of balance due to the loss of blades.
and may have damaged the bearings/bushings
if you can get just the squirrel cage that great

Why does my ac freeze up

Hello, air conditioners will freeze either due to low airflow.....such as dirty filter, dirty evaporator coil, weak or not running blower motor. Also, a low refrigerant charge can cause the unit to freeze up.

Ac squirrel cage fan motor noise

Could be bearings going out, or a squirrel cage rubbing the blower housing, a squirrel cage blade that came loose, or a capacitor.

Changing squirrel cage GE window a/c

yes, most smaller window units have both outdoor and indoor cages connected to a single motor in the middle of the 2 blower wheels and are completely seperate from the compressor and it associated parts

I need a replacement for the lower squirrel cage on the pac9.

I also need these for two units. I have had no luck finding any. Sadly the company seems out of business.

What is a bottom blower? No bum jokes, please! I think it's something to do with engineering, but not too sure.

the bottom blower in a PAC9 is the blower motor that sucks room air in through the bottom vents of the unit through the condenser. this air removes heat from the condeser and is blown out through the warm air vent duct. A common failure on windchaser units is the 'bottom blower squirrel cage' which is a plastic fanblade.

Mod ASU24C1

If the blower is made of plastic it does not have a set screw. You most likely need a new squirrel cage. They are formed to the shaft and have a compression ring that holds them in place.
