Question about Edirol UA-4FX External Sound System
My cousing has been provided with an HP-520 notebook with FreeDOS OS. She has loaded Windows XP OS. However she is unable to run audio and modem since the drivers are not available. HP Quickspecs state that the specific model supports Conexant CX20549 for Audio and Conexant CX20548-11 for modem. Could please let me have a solution for this problem. For your information the Notebook comes with 512 MB RAM - Inten 945 GM Express Chipset. My cousing does not want to load Vista.
For WIN XP32 SP2 try
1.instal sp36880.exe (Intel Chipset Installation Utility for ICH8 2K_XP)
2.instal sp33867.exe (Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio)
3.try instal sp36090.exe (Conexant High Definition Audio) but 99% with errors !!! (extract to C:\sp36090 )
4.in DEVICE MANAGER / SYSTEM DEVICES
right click on PCI DEVICE (there is yellow trouble icon), manual search "C:\sp36090" and final instal DEVICE )
5. then instal next devices :))
sp36089.exe (HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP)

You must instal drivers for High Definicion. Then you can instal CX20549 driver.

You must install the driver for High definition, you can download it from HP site. If the setup from the HP site doesn't install the drivers go to device manager-update driver and let windows find them. Then you can install sound and modem drivers.

Please i have dell 6410 and need to install modem driver, i have aproplem when i want to instaleed " driver installation failed could not find modem device for this driver" please help me how i can fix this prob,, opppppppppps :(((

I bought a HP-530 notebook with FreeDOS OS and it came without drivers. I downloaded the drivers from the HP site, but it won't work to install the Audio and Modem driver (conexant CX20549). When I try, it says: "Driver installation Failed: Could not find the MEDIA device for this driver" or Driver installation Failed: Could not find the MODEM device for this driver". I installed a Win XP Professional with SP2.
What should I do?
I see that this is a problem for others too.

I have the same problem. HP 530 came with Vista. I removed Vista, Installed XP Pro with SP2. No sound. Went to HP website and downloaded the MS Univ. driver for High Def. Sound and then tried to load the Conexant driver on the HP website. Still no sound. Get error: "cannot find Media device for driver" Same problem with the Conexant modem.
HP 530 with FreeDOS. I have installed Windows XP SP2. Installed Microsoft UAA for HD driver. But drivers for audio say the same.

problem with Hp 530 laptop, just downgraded with XP2 and have all drivers installed inc. the UAA and Conx Audio, but still no sound, instead I got ERROR : cannot install : no media device Thanks, can anyone assist.
I have the same problem with the same conextant CX 20549 audio card, but with a fujitsu siemens laptop. The drivers on the CD that came with the laptop will not install, i also get the error message that the device was not found.
